Hi,

I have been searching for how you remove the webbing that is thrown on you when fighting Narvey Night-Eyes, but can't find the answer. Does anyone know what you do to remove the web?

Thanks, Katrena

There is a quest you can do to get an acid popper or something like that. I've never been too concerned about the webbing. Wish I had more info for you.

I have used acid poppers a few months ago, but they seemed bugged and acted like smokebombs: Stealth check, which of course failed, and still webbed...

Thanks for the information. Since the quest can only be done once per character, it must not be that important of an item to succesfully kill Narvey Night-Eyes. How long is the timer when you get hit with the webb, and does it just freeze you?

Thanks, Katrena

Yes it freezes you in place, sometimes it also will shoot you to a different place in the cave, and I am not sure of the exact amount of time but it is only for a few seconds.

Actually the quest can be done as many times as you like... The trick is after you finish part 1 of the quest, which gives you the acid poppers, accept part 2, then cancel the whole chain and start over.

If you finish part 2 though, you can't retake any part of the quest anymore with that char.

Since it acts as a paralyze effect, if you are already paralyzed, it won't freeze you.

As a result, the standard strategy for tamers and summons-using spellcasters is to constantly chain low-cost spells of other sorts when not actually healing the pets/summons/other party members (level 1 heal macro targeting pet or self, etc.) or recasting summons. That way, if the web hits you while you're casting, you don't freeze - only if you get caught in between spells (or between spellcast and target) do you get frozen. It's not 100% effective, either, and getting timing right is a matter of luck, sometimes.

I also use the method that Basara described. I did not mention it because I didnt know if it was considered an exploit or not.

Why the heck do so many players still mispronounce or misspell this creature's name?

It's NAVREY. Not Narvey.

Xalan: you got the wrong reply...

The Devs have known about the paralysis for as long as SA has been out, and is actually a variation on a really old PvP tactic to avoid paralysis with summons users/tamers.

Since it doesn't work automatically, and is far from foolproof, it doesn't really fall into the realm of exploit. It also costs serious amounts of mana that could be used more productively elsewhere. So you're trading damage output (and the fight taking longer) to get better survivability.

OF course, it's always the Devs' prerogative to change their view on this at any time.

I did Navrey for the first time a few days ago with the help of Old Man. He suggested that I have invis pots on me for when I get paralyzed and it's targeting to attack. That saved my butt a few times.
