Hello everyone who clicked the topic. I am Scavenger [UTB] of Chesepeake. Since the first day 'paragon chests' came into existence, I have been working on a full collection. Once blackrock infecting came out, I tried to collect one of each of those as well. I'd say something about the 'named monster' chests (paragon by default) but I'm sure you already see my theme.

Many people within Chesepeake know of my home and my 'trophy hall' of paragon and blackrock chests on display, but I cannot find the patience to keep trying for a certain chest that has alluded me for two years- the Paragon Valorite Elemental. I know that if I want it, I must ask for help.

However, at this time, all chests were earned either by me alone, by me in concert with someone else working together for the sole purpose of adding a difficult chest to the collection for others to look upon and enjoy, or an unintentional, unique, EM only event chest donated for the purpose of the chest museum.

I believe that I won't be viewed in a negative light if I let everyone in all UO, not just my own shard, about my chest collection, so if anyone desires, they can come and have a look. Since there's a few 'strengthen the community' and 'help new players' threads around, I thought I should add in my own idea. Not just do I have chests with monster names on them, but I also wrote a few purple books for each monster type, so new players (or players without 110 Animal Lore) can see a monster's weakness by viewing my makeshift in-game bestiary.

Below is a list of every chest I have. If you have something I do not and would like to donate a chest to help complete my work, then I would be honored. Please write in your offer in this thread, so it is in a public place and everyone can see what of yours I have in my custody, so it can easily be reclaimed if you so choose.

There are a couple people who have chests I do not have, but have declined to donate, sell, give away, or trade them. I find that totally fine, it's their item, after all. Two that I know of are 'blackrock infected lord of the abyss' and 'blackrock infected crystal hydra'. But they exist, and I've seen it myself as proof, so that's really good enough for me.

I have also collected blackrock infected chests and have 18 different ones.
The only "double" I have that you are lacking is "ophidian matriarch". I would gladly trade or even donate it, but I am afraid it is on Europa and I am not really a big shard hopper. Should you know someone who transfers, let me know...

Also, because it seems to be your thing:
I am trying to collect as many of the named paragon forgotten servant chests (before they turn them off).
I already have 24 and still no doubles, which makes me start to think it is a random name generator (which would probably end my quest).

As it is a treasured gift from my guildmaster after a guild effort, I cannot part with it, however, I can absolutely confirm the existence of at least one blackrock infected crystal hydra chest:-

Different chests I have been trying for, really have to do with drop rate and not danger, or a house glitch eating a couple chests. They are:

Ones I really want:
Orc Mage (this finishes off the Repond collection) (Only one spawns at a time, and they respawn very slowly. You can kill it and the group it spawns with as easy as a single blade spirit- but they spawn in such a wide area and have such a poor drop rate that you'll wonder why you're wasting your time even trying.)

Air Elemental (These guys just don't want to give me nuthin. I've killed so many that I wonder about the Hunter's Guide being wrong about them dropping chests. I thought Ice was the only elemental with no map.)

Copper, Verite, Valorite, Bronze (Paragon ore elementals. I swear I'm the only one hunting these- a paladin/miner must mine in ilshenhar with gargoyle picks in order to find and kill these, plus ore elementals have very poor map/chest drop rates.)

Juka Mage, Verite Elemental (Lost to house glitch. Juka Mage chests are actually easy to get, just I've been busy with the ore elemental chests.)

When blackrock first came out, you could infect champion spawn bosses and other peerless! I know, because I accidentally infected a Dark Father during the destruction of Magincia. Sorry! Some infected peerless MIGHT have dropped chests. Any infected boss chest would be a prize, and in this collection, I'd say it might take center stage.

When paragons first came out, necromancer undead could become paragon, as well as mage summons. Further glitch, anything could drop a chest, even if it wasn't supposed to, like a 'tropical bird'. Any chest gained from either programming oversight would also be a magnificent addition, and my palms sweat in greed just thinking about it.

Skeletal Dragon (Except for the Renowned hunt, everyone has been too afraid, too weak, or just not having a skillset able to handle the challenge of tackling this beast, so I still don't have its chest. Not only would this be a weight off my shoulders, but it would also finish up both the Undead and Reptile collections.)

Ophidian Knight-Errant, Ophidian Justicar, Ophidian Shaman, Ophidian Avenger, Ophidian Enforcer (Paragons spawn rarely, and only during champ spawn. You have to keep the Cold Blood spawn from advancing or lowering in order for enough to spawn to actually get a chest.)

Searing Gargoyle (And any derivative name of the same monster! Same problem with the Ophidians, but they are slow and you don't need to take them all that seriously. However, don't kill too many or the champion will come out- and it's quite easy to do on accident. Plus paragons of these spawn even less often than the Ophidian Knight-Errant. Did I also mention that since the monster has multiple names, there is also the difficulty of collecting all the Daemon chest names added into the mix?)

Blackrock Infected Shadow Wyrm (I tried infecting this for a month, but it just never happened. Did anyone in another shard get it to happen?)

Blackrock Infected Ravager (During the destruction of Magincia event, these spawned in Trammel and Felucca, instead of only in Malas. Infecting was active at the time, and infecting only worked in Trammel and Felucca- and therefore it is possible someone got a chest off one of these. I'd love to have it if it happened. I did infect one, but it killed me and ran away. I never did figure out what happened after that.)

Thank you very much Arkanos and LadyNico. I didn't actually know about the Forgotten Servants. What is this? I haven't been playing much lately and though I'm in vent all the time, no one has told me about it.
I've got a stealth/tamer, witch (necro/spellweave/mage/mystic), and paladin/miner. Think I'd be okay?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news on two fronts.

But....

First ....There seems to be a random name generator, I have been hunting the paragons for quite a while and have a alot of chests, with more than a few duplicates. I was even recording the journal and compiling a list of the names I would come across. At last count I was up to around 75 names or so. Thread on it is here: http://vboards.stratics.com/uhall/257169-paragon-forgotten-servant-names.html While it does seem to spit out random names it kind of seems like those random names are not limitless. There are quite a few names that are simply one letter off, so you do have to watch carefully. Its almost like there are only so many combinatons of consonants and vowels they coded into the generator.

Secondly... and the most sad imo... Hurry, because the paragon servents seem to be coming to an end. The publish that just hit Origin seems to have wiped the paragons servents from existence.

They are still on all prod shard {except maybe origin - no char there to check but patch is there} right now. They are at the Wyvern Renowned Spawn in the Abyss - Tomb of King entrance side for fast travel. They are the third tier of that spawn.

i can do them one by one (or maybe two at once) with my sampire. With my tamer I found that I needed Disco (or it would take ages)...

Btw: the hardest blackrock infected mob i managed (and got a chest from) was a greater dragon, not a nice fight!
I wish they would turn this back on, was so much fun!

I got killed by a forgotten servant, four times. So until I bring my guild leader with me, he as a disco/tame, and me as a stealth/tame, I'm not going back. 4.6 greater dragon and he can't win, but also can't lose. The one paragon I did kill, I only killed because a faerie dragon and wyvern both helped. I'm definitely going back though- who can resist the call of a treasure chest with a name on it I don't have?

@Katrena: Chesepeake! I'm Scavenger, so I can pick you up and take you to my place and you can see the chest collection.

@Kylie Kinslayer: Devalued, yes, but gotta catch 'em all! Plus some chests will still be rare, even if they can be spawned again. Like ore elementals. Plus it was rather difficult (at least for me) to infect stuff.

*chuckles* I do remember the br Dark Fathers during the Mag event. They were bloody fast, too!

I'm sure we also had a couple BR infected Lady Mel boxes, though I didn't personally nab any of those.

I still have blackrock on a few chars, yes, I'd love for it to be switched back on again!

@LadyNico: It's the reason I still have 700 pieces filling up my house's storage. And to think, I traded 60 pieces of GOOD rubble for a Beserker's Scythe, just so I had even more chance to infect things. Not looking like a good trade anymore, is it?

I went crazy with it, though. Crazy like the voices in my head while I was infected! Carried a small and big piece, infected myself using a soulstone for high enough magery, and ran around on my paladin smacking something with a berserker scythe, running off screen so the next attack would be a 2-for, re-entering the screen while infected plus attacking with the Scythe. Then letting whatever heal all the way naturally before attacking again, only running back and forth. Kept doing that on good monsters (again with the ore elementals? Yes!) until the scythe required repairs. I only ever infected a Reaper.

Give you a tip there. Lay down pois field on it. Range heal the drag and ebolt the servent when you are not hitting another pois field or healing. Goes lots faster that way. I use a sw/mage/tamer there and when I use gift of renewal on drag I dont even have to heal to take one out using that method.

I'm sure we also had a couple BR infected Lady Mel boxes, though I didn't personally nab any of those.

Yeah, there are a few Lady Mel ones, have also seen a Paroxy one *shudders*

Somehow related to this:

During the time of BR infection I used to kill lots of Ophidians (cant remember why really). Thats why I got the whole ophidian BR chest collection.
Now as all of you know some ophidians still drop rations and slippery snake skins.
I only ever had one single BR infected ophidian that dropped rations and skin and to my surprise the skin was black - and not the usual gold colour.
To me this black slippery snake skin is one of the rarest things I own (together with that black easter egg with red dots).
I don´t think there are many around, if at all...
(it still somehow surprises me, that some dev thought about giving the skin a different colour when the ophidian is BR infected. I mean it is just one of so many possible creatures....)

@Kylie: I was thinking that, but I have 0 eval, so I think i'd just anger the paragon. I did keep my dragon healed at range, though. 120 tame 110 lore 120 vet 85 stealth 100 hiding 100 magery 90 meditation. Or something like that.

Paragon chests you might want: a Troglodyte and an Ogre Lord (these were from the Ethereal Fortress basement where you had to give the keycodes for separate sections), Xarot the Black Archmage, Putrefier.

A Smoldering Gargoyle (This one was easier on Pacific several years ago we had the Central Dungeon infested with specials. Our EM put in Ancient Liches, Shadow Wyrms, Various other Gargoyles, And some different Daemon types.

FYI another very cool thing that i didn't know but came to find out since the Honesty Virtue and Forensic Evaluation skill being used more i now can tell who picked the locks of all the Paragon chests i have.

I used to have copies of all of my paragon chests, in pretty much every hue, but I was getting ready to shut down my account due to lack of income, so out the copies went. I figured out how to keep UO going, but not before getting rid of most the items in my house, unfortunately.

When it has to do with paragon chest color, if I was really specific, I like the dual-tone ones, since the flat color chests can't be metal dyed. I like having the chests color-coded based on what super slayer is most effective against the monster, for various reasons. Although color isn't important to me really, but the monster's name is.

@Pfloyd: Tell you what. If I can find someone with any other color Para Acid chest, I'll get it from them and have that on display and donate my white one to you.
Is your list of non-white chests that you don't need, or white chests you have on display? If they're chests that may be available for the collection that you're offering, you've got a half dozen I've yet to add! Some are eye-poppingly impressive- Rikktor? Whew. Those blackrock chests are just amazing. A full set of ophidians? I think I know where you were standing for you to get that to happen! The event chests (ogre lord para) I tried to get myself, but the floor wasn't even and I kept getting killed because I 'couldn't see' my pet to heal it, and just couldn't find people to go into the dungeon with me for help. Had to miss out on paragon ancient lich and others.

@Basara: Depending on what you would like for your blackrock chests, I would love to get all of them from you, whether I need them for the collection or not. Then I'd have more duplicates to trade in order to expand the collection that much more.

@Arkanos: Unfortunately, I was wrong. I thought it was Troll I had copies of, but it was Ettin. Do you need that? If so, I'm very happy to trade. I actually have 3 copies of Ettin, a total of four.

But don´t worry if you can´t come up with anything. It is a good cause!

the big list i did is my collection of the luna whites that i have. If there is any chest you know of that isn't on that list i am very interested. the other post i have are the chests that i can deliver to chessy sometime to you. my collection of unique blackrock boxes including daemon names is over 75 with about 25 of them daemon. One of them is a Daemon Berserker blackrock infected box. For the Ophidians i just ran through the desert to the various gathering spots every day. I probably gathered close to 300 Ophidian BR boxes. The Meraktus the Tormented Paragon box is actually from the creature that attacked the caravan that was transporting Ricardo to Yew. It dropped on several different servers but this one was the only one i knew of that was white.

Lucky for you to get the only white Miraktus the Tormented box! The Hiryu paragon chest dropped from a pirate named Jiro that attacked Trinsic docks, in hunt of Ricardo while he was imprisoned.
Why a human pirate dropped a paragon hiryu box I don't know, but my guild was one of tamers only, and we were partied, so we got the box. I bought it from the guild member who picked it up once it was emptied, for a million gold.

I dug through some of my disorganized crates and found two boxes. A black Bazerion the Wizard-Lord, and a white Miasma. I see you have Miasma already, but its still yours if you want it. Now that I know other people somewhere have Meraktus the Tormented, I'll have to see who has them and if they're willing to part with it.

I have an ogre lord paragon chest from an event where ogre lords spawned in Ilshenar, and I have a mongbat paragon chest, I can't remember on top of my head what colors they are, or if they hold any value...

My house looks like crap right now- I just customized it to have a better 'museum/library' feel, and my items are all over the place.

I figured that my house as it was was no longer suitable for the chests, since it wasn't a full museum, but the floor levels went: role playing, crafting, trophies, aviary.

I have family over for the next week or so, but I'll finish up the museum's proper looks after my guests have fallen asleep. I do apologize for hurting everyone's eyes on one of the levels! You'll never see anything else as bright in UO anywhere.

@Doubleplay- you're right, I should come get that ophidian matriarch chest from you, I'll have to see when I'm not entertaining and we can work out a good time.
