The way in which is lends itself to RP... how it is customizable to your imagination...

The way you can build whatever you dream, be what you want and portray yourself as you like.

That is what I love about UO.

The creativity of the game and the players.

Like many others, I like the fact that when I logon, I get to choose what activity I will do that session.

The variety.

Soon, for example, we'll be able to, literally, have Ninjas fighting Pirates.

Silly example but.....Illustrative of the range the game offers us.

Paladins, on behalf of a Queen equally reminiscent of Joan of Arc and Richard the Lion Heart and using elvish weapons, fighting Ninja-Samurai-Pirates on a gargoyle ship.

That I can turn my nose up at Warcraft players like the uncultured heathens they are.

And the lore. Some have objected to the implementation of different cultures into the World of Sosaria - believing we're playing Lord of the Rings - but I enjoy being able to create anything I desire. I can be playing a Scottish Highlander from Yew or a Ronin from Homare. There is a certain Medevalist Romanticism to Ultima that isn't reliant on the precepts and pastiche of Dungeons and Dragons.

Edit: (Galen beat me to it.)
