Personally i see EM events as the only truly unique feature of UO right now. PVP, PVM, there are way better games for that. UO does cater to the deco/dressup crowd i suppose which keeps some old timers playing. No other game has actual live events like UO, and the personal level, the fact that they are conducted by players is one of the only things left in the game that has the original spirit of players making a world for themselves in a sandbox game.

i wish it were. you dont know how frustrating it was to see my carefully perfected characters i had invested hours and hours in being on the same level as a guy with an lrc suit and a boura. or a naked noob. (yes, you do have to "try" a little harder on a naked noob, but its not rocket science)
Hours of new, unique content that is only available to people who can drop everything else going on in their lives to log in during a narrow time frame. Everyone else can just forget about "new, unique content," even though they help pay for it too.
agreed, however the same can be said for alot of entertainment. ball games, plays, movies, concerts etc etc. scheduling live entertainment is something i think most people have become accustomed to.
Oh I agree with you 100% that the EM Events are totally wonderful and I support them wholeheartedly. I am not going to attend them on any other shard than GL's most likely ..... I would on the Asian shards since I'm up when they are on but I don't understand the language at all.... and I'm not going to pretend to understand it. I wish I could try to attend some on Oceana as well but I can't really move there.... an EM event I think would prove to be fatal given the horrible lag I get at them on GL's. I can't imagine trying to deal with the super bad lag of an EM event on top of the lag of being all the way around the world from there.Personally i see EM events as the only truly unique feature of UO right now. Now, with a conservative average of 3 events a month per shard (some have more some have less) and using very rough math, thats over 75 hours of new content each month. nothing to scoff at.
Keep in mind, anyone can do these events. Ask alexander he has perfected the art of getting looting rights on a naked noob character and can still enjoy the story of each shard (damn him

understand about the time zones. its probably the worst for european players, and the earlier U.S. ones are hard for west coasters to make alot because of 9to5 work.
well, then it wouldnt be "live" entertainment. i do understand a video game isnt generally thought of as something a person has to schedule a time slot for, but in the modern age i think its a cool thing. anyway only thing that really keeps me personally interested. you can only kill peerless or get excited about stats for so long. thats what i love about UO tho. despite its age and setbacks, there always seems to be something to keep me interested.
