So lots have been said about making gold and the economy.

Thought you might like to know some riches still wait.

I just GM'd imbuing so I made my first weapon a radiant scimitar.

With like 66% mana leach, 38 hit lightning and 44 hit physical area. Something like that so it fits 500 cap and it is REPOND.

I forget of course to powder it so it has 144 durability.

I went to cavern for 2 hours. 2 - 1 hour trips.
2 or 3 others around.

I died 2x.

6 crystal shards.
4 arcanic runes
4 abyssal cloth
1 crystaline block rock
6 other items.
12 essences.

When you package that all together for quick sale thats a quick 1.5 million low end to just move it. Several million if you take your time.

So in 2 hours you can have 1.5 million. Lots have been said about the economy and gold.

Here is a perfectly easy way, and you dont need my weapon, to jump right into the economy. 2 hours time.

I think its funny that an arguement that comes up is things are too expensive. They really aren't when all players have access to the economy once the spend time building up their characture.

A mere two hours. Well done.

-How did the GM crafted armor hold up?

-And what was your skill template please?

-I am quite certain you leveled those skills inside those two hours.

-GM Imbuing was undoubtedly simple and cheap to achieve.

-That quick sale is assuredly from a remote 7 x 7 house in the far southern Trinsic swamps correct?

My point is that your example is false in its presented simplicity.
Go make a toon, run it for a week and try the same thing. Only with the resources garnered with that toon. Don’t twink it with GM imbuing unless you convince a stranger (not a guild-mate or friend) to craft/enhance some items for a few thousand gold.

But you know, a Pendant of the Magi on Pacific costs 1 Million gold. There were 5 on a vendor for 750K each and they were immediately bought up to be resold for 1 Million.

The fact is that you have a whole set of preconditions which allowed you to achieve what you did. And seriously, well done on that level.

But that is categorically NOT what a new player or even some of the older players face.

I've been thinking about looting the arrows next time I'm down there. Guess I'll have to see how much they weigh after doing the three...

Thanks Raven.
I went too, for the same reasons.

I only spent a few minutes there, maybe 10 minutes of active hunting.

I got one cloth and one Crystal BR.
I used a stealther (98), Swords (108), Chivalry (85 or so).
My weapon of choice was a Scimitar with some DI and 44% lightning (not imbued).
This character is designed for hit and stealth using the scimitar's hide attack.
I didn't die at all, due to the stealth.

So, with a decent but not dominating character, built for assassinating and stealth, I did pretty well, I guess, in just a few minutes.

I'm not sure about selling stuff like you guys do. I don't have a Luna vendor because I can't keep it stocked, and don't really play for economics.

I think the best way for me to go is to do what I've started doing. I make Natural Dyes (especially black and white), and once a week or two I stock up my vendor and drop runes around. I sell the black and white right away because I sell cheap. Heaps of gold right away, because I need it.

From here, I plan to start adding other items to the vendors and hope that the draw of the cheap dyes will be a lead item to other sales. I then hope to up my dye prices a little as I get a more people used to visiting my place in search of stuffs.

My biggest problem is time and dedication to economic play. My desire in UO is different from that. Sort of. I do enjoy the plants. But I'm missing out on what I really want to do, which is explore for mysteries and document them all. I know they are just broke, but I still enjoy explorations and mysteries more than anything else, by far. By far, did I say that? And the marvelous lore in Ultima and in UO. I can't stress enough that's what I play for. And my ever foolish hope that someday...someday, they may decide to start fixing the mysteries into something meaningful. And go back to the lore for meaningful game experience.

But as it is, I do also expect that I need to live in Sosaria, and make money through the marvelous economics of UO. To earn a living and prosper. I expect that I can't just play the way I want and forget all the rest. I like that. It's realistic, it's "sandbox", it's roleplay.

In any event, it appears I owe someone an apology.

Connor, I'm sorry I gave you such a hard time. I still hold to my beliefs that things need to be toned down as far as items power, and inflation. I still hate the PS system that forces players into a trap. But you didn't deserve my slams that took a personal bent.
Now, I don't offer apologies very often. This is a "rare" item. But you can't sell it, mwahahaha.

Ive been playing 10 years or so.
My guy is just GM with 115 in swords
Nothing special

My imbuing smith made the weapon. Took months for me to 120 imbuing MONTHS.

The armour is mostly 70's I just bought pieces. Not much on me.

2 or 3 other running around in cavern. We joined up as strangers to kill big cheese rats.

If you on atlantic you can have a free vendor at my Ter Mur place. Its busy. Pricing wise there are highs and lows. Depending on how quick you want to sell.

One of the problems for newer players is, that they dont know for which items to look/to ask for.

Here are some of the suits I sell...but my imbuing is around 114.0

(I should point out though it says 1 mod most pieces are imbued at least twice or more to get the all 70's stuff)
1 mod suit "The Starter Suit"
100% LRC Medable 70-70-70-70-75 6 pc Low Durability (aka no PoF) Imbued Barbed Leather Starter Suit

2 mod suit "The Samurai Starter"
100% LRC Mage Armor 70-70-70-70-75 6 pc Mid Durability Imbued Shadow Iron Samurai Starter Suit

3 mod suit "The Mana Maniac"
100% LRC Medable 70-70-70-70-75 +6MR +42MI 6 pc Low Durability (aka no PoF) Imbued Barbed Leather Starter Suit

3 mod suit "The Stamina Special"
100% LRC Medable 70-70-70-70-75 +12SR +42SI 6 pc Low Durability (aka no PoF) Imbued Barbed Leather Starter Suit
My prices come with a disclaimer. My shop is in Felucca Atlantic and I try to keep my prices on the low low side while still pulling a little profit. I consider my store to be the exact opposite of a typical luna shop.

I sell the Starter Suit at 100k
I sell the Samurai Suit at 175k
I sell the 3 mod Suits at 450k
Add a cheap vermin slayer talisman, find a guild and ask a guildie imbuer for a Scimitar with hit area and mana/stamina or hp leech and some DI.
I am shure, you can get the gold for lets say the Stamina Special Suit on Atlantic by hunting for leather in a short time/while you train your char. (An except spined leather set with 70 phys resist would be enough for training.)

Selling stuff isn't easy for the casual player. I bet I play an hour or two a week. So, I loot something uber. Do I spent my hour spamming at Luna? Do I get a vendor and put my sole item on it? Spend my hour trying to find an auction house? I dunno. Wish there was a way to drop it off somewhere and come back in a week to see if it sold.
