My shiny new thief...

Well, I made a new thief on a production shard, been mostly stealing from Doom and monsters to get skill up... but today, being bored, I went looking for IDOCs in Fel.

Instead, I found two people sitting outside a house talking. I decided, "what the hell, if they're still there when I get back, I'll try it" Lo and behold, they were. I manage to get close enough to snoop one of them, and find a 10th anniversary statue, uninsured. Enter adrenaline rush as I backed off to change forms. I manage to get back undetected, set up my stealing macro, which decided to backfire on me (Pulled a target cursor, but didn't hit the statue). So, totally visible next to a red and blue, I still manage to manually target and successfully grab the statue and run... I've yet to figure out how I survived unscathed

First ever steal off someone I didn't know, and who didn't know I was a thief!

Congrats. Keep your eyes open and the prizes will get bigger.

Im assuming you were using ninja. Once your in and snooped, stay there to change forms. As long as you dont fizzle, they wont hear or see it.

Hehe, thanks for the advice, but my ninjitsu still isn't that high yet, and I tend to fizzle quite a bit. I was actually shadowjumping around training it up when I found them to begin with

The concern with shadow jump is the little poof of smoke that appears when you use it. I would suggest only using it when trying to get away so you don't let the marks know you are in the area...oh and good luck on the player steals.

You will find out that they are far more rewarding (fun) than stealing from monsters or off the floor of the dungeon...la
