My new pvp thief

Hey guys, I'm currently building a character to basically just steal stuff from people and get the ef out of there.

So far I have..

100.5 stealing
100 Snooping
100.3 Stealth
99.7 Hiding
62.6 Magery
49.6 Eval Int
51.4 Med

I am thinking about 120 stealing/stealth magery and like 50 meditation.. My cap is 720

My question is, would this template be worth the trouble or can i do fine with 7x gm down the line and maybe use burglars bandanna and shadow dancer pants?

My set is:

Ninjitsu 120
Snooping 100 R: 90
Stealing 120 R: 60
Stealth 120 R: 90
Wrestling 100
Hiding 100
Magery: 100
Meditation: 50

Ninjitsu would be very useful for escapes. Magery is good if you have protection and cast invisibility when your hiding timer isn't up yet. I have wrestling for disarming those sometimes uninsured items. I use burglars bandanna dancer legs and jewels. If you are on a prodo shard it is good to have the arties. If on siege you would want straight skill.

Also, if you are planning to play a running thief...drop meditation and eval. No need for those. Go for more defensive skills like ninja, healing/ana or resist spells...la

Thanks for the input I was wondering about ninjitsu myself, as well as getting rid of eval/meditation.. that's why they are so low atm. I currently play on Lake Superior.

I like the idea of ninjitsu and spell resistance.

Basically I would really like to steal power scrolls and what not.

If you want a PvP thief, drop hiding and stealth and replace that with magic resist and maybe something else such as wrestling or whatever. If you are going to PvP, you will want at least gm meditation, magery, and resist. You don't want low mana regen if you are PvPing, bad voodoo.

by pvp thief i meant that it is not a doom stealer, i just want to run in and steal stuff from people at the champion spawns and get the heck out of there. But I forgot to mention my thief is an elf

i use +skill items i switch off.. like for stealing right when i steal i have a kr macro that changes my jewelery and items to get to 120 stealing

i then switch them back to items that give me 100 ninja and stealth so i can change form and run off.

when im in a pinch and i need to fight someone i switch to wolf form bust out my bow and shoot while im running away.


i also use the fukiya darts to dp.

I suggest replacing Eval with Ninjitsu. Animal form is your greatest escape tool. Stealthing at mounted speed is excellent.
Also, you will only need enough magery for 100% cast Invis's. Higher would be your own personal preference.
Meditation can be dropped very low. You will only be casting Invis's and cures/heals seldomly. A large mana pool will take care of that.

Resist..not needed imo. You need to count on getting the eff out of there before they have any chance to cast on you.

I also suggest Wrestling or Fencing. Wrestling allows you to always be able to defend yourself and steal without worrying about un-equiping/re-equiping.
With Fencing, you will have an extremely useful special move: Shadowstrike. This will allow you to enter stealth in almost any situation. My thief has wrestle, but I have many times considered Fencing just for Shadowstrike. Works wonders with ugly spawn that like to instant-target you. Especially the magic casters. They're nasty.

Definately keep with this template. Start stealing powerscrolls and you'll be making more mils than you ever thought possible. =D

Has anyone considered using a high hit spell 1 handed mage weapon, fireball or lightning, assuming you have magery on your thief and spam focus attack and death strikes to pvp on a thief? I am doing that on my thief and also picked up 80+ bushido to use confidence to heal on the run.
