i dont know if it was before the board crash but Rico had a post (he's a thief for those of you who dont know him) about his idea of the perfect thievery would be to get someones password and steal their whole account. essentially saying that this is just another form of play style.

as you can imagine some did not believe this was a good style of play.
Ummm, I have never suggested stealing anyone's account or real life items would be a good thing. I am a pixel thief...that's where I have always drawn the line...la

Well we know it's not Los Angeles :) I've decided it's the Cantonese thing ...
Well, since this is the second time I've asked and the scoundrel is still not telling us, I'm going to read it as the musical note la, a shortened form of "tra la, la," a rogue equivalent of "whatever" as he sneaks off for more mischief.

Saddens me that people still try to scam one another off a game thats community can't afford to continue getting smaller.

Is that item I'm about to steal worth the potential increase of this game being closed due to lack of playerbase? Countless players old and new have left due to being scammed, and many will continue to do so.

A while ago I decided to start a list of scammers names on Atlantic, just in case I ran into any of them a second time. The list was started in 2010. As of today, there are 287 names on that list. Every single person on the list either tried to scam me (none succeeded), or I saw them try to scam someone else. The list is only people on Atlantic, imagine how many more there are spread throughout the other shards.

It saddens me greatly that there are literally hundreds of people in the game, who are willing to steal from, or scam people, for PIXELS. A lot of them don't even seem to care who their victim is, friends, random people or family members, doesn't matter, all they see is a victim and free pixelated gold.

:lame:
Am I on that list? I used to infiltrate LV and kill and loot them afk, I ended up getting over forty kills in three days before they eventually found me. But in my eyes it was fun, fun for me and fun for them. It makes the game more fun to have the danger of losing something you hold valuable, it makes a great story. Some of my most memorable moments in uo are the ones were I've lost something dear to me or when I have taken something dear to someone else.

If it involves an actual skill, like stealing, I consider it fair. If it involves guild afk killing, it's more for the kills than the stealing usually, so I consider it more of a game than stealing, the "how fast can we catch the killer" game, plus if the guild members haven't learned not to carry uninsured stuff after they realize there is a thief....well it's kinda their own fault at that point. But when people directly scam, or hack someones account it crosses the line between in game fun, and just being a jerk. You don't scam people, (as far as I know) so you aren't on the list :)
Even when you were going after my alliance, was still fun trying to catch you.
