I just got error 23 while on my lot....when I logged back in, there was an extra newspaper on my lot.

Yes but instead of cleaning she just stands there trying to get the old paper/plate and wastes all of the money your paying her to clean

No, one was in new condition, but there were two old ones there for recycling when before there was only one.
Don't know about keping the maid there longer....I don't want my maid at my place any longer than she needs to be....I can't afford her as it is at the moment. I wish we could fire the paper girl.

I have to agree, can we please stop the delivery of our newpapers? We can fire the maid and gardner we should be able to send in a request to stop the paper from being delivered.

If you find a place to stash 5 newspapers on your lot somewhere the papergirl stops delivering them. I have seen players create lovely chimneys behind their fireplaces to hide old newspapers in them. Of course this method will drive your maids insane

That's why I suggest to only block ONE thing to keep the maid there. Otherwise, the maid will get hung up trying to get them and won't clean. It's the same situation with the repairman.

Hiding newspapers will not keep the maid on your property you need to hide a dirty toilet or a dirty plate to do that. The maid will stay until her shift is over if you do this. She does her job just fine but will shrug and shake her head when she doesn't have something else to clean because you are blocking her from getting to the dirty item. I sometimes build an outhouse without a door in the back of my property hidden by trees or put a plate on my roof or hide it in a chimney.

Same if I build something and have a second acct on the same lot, one of them won't see the newly built stuff...
I think it's just that you couldn't see the other newspaper before you relogged.

something similar happened to me .... the paper girl came as I landed on my property I threw the paper in the trash and went about building. 2 minutes later I crashed and when I logged in again that darn paper girl was back littering on my land .... grrrrrrrrrr

Blocking one newspaper WILL keep the maid until 6PM. And like I said before...block ONE item...otherwise they get hung up on them and won't work. If you're going to block in several newspapers/dirty stuff/broken items...be prepared to have to order them to clean/repair individual items. I had to do it all the time as a roomie someplace because the owner kept dirty/broken stuff blocked in a room where the maid/repair man couldn't get to.

I tested this yesterday with one paper and the maid left around 2pm. I thought the newspaper would be better than my plate because I won't have the flies but it did not work for me.

Well, I did it...I finally saved up 5 papers! Good bye papergirl!
Good thing I don't have a maid yet.
