[General] MR/spells and metal armour query?

I know that Metal armour does not allow you to meditate but can rou still cast spells and does mr work on the armour?
I want my necro warrior to wear metal, he has no meditation but i want to put some mr on the armour and for him to cast spells in the armour... ?
