moving shards, noob question (if it not asked that is)

ok here the deal, i am moving from legends to a diffent shard, atm it may be euopa or atl come down to waht the shard does this weekend when VIP moves back to atl ...

so it out of my hands :-(

if the guild i in say the same with little to no chage then i going to atl, if not then it to europa and start a new life over there for the better ping and time zone

i live in wales and i playing on a US shard ... cos it better PvP at the time but now i may be moving back home and maybe not ...

so here the question ...

i am moving a lot of items (atm my bank is full with 125 items with a total stone count of 233K ... that not a typo

all this from house hunting and well killing spripters, who give me there ore/logs inpayment for killing them and well it kind of stockpiled !!!!))

in my house i have got 4 full chest of items i dont what to loose when i move, so can i get 4 packys and drop the items there, and start the move will the pakeys with my errm loot come with me to my new shard or not ? just a question

Hm. I'd be careful using pack horses. I've heard they sometimes don't transfer everything. I've used my beetle probably 20+ times and never had any trouble, but I've never used pack horses because I know people that have said they lost everything when transferring with them. Just to be safe I'd put your best stuff in bank/backpack and only the stuff you could afford to lose in the pack horses. It should work. I would think it would, but just figured I'd let you know.

Your chests should be safe but remember they have to all be under i think its 1600 stones to fit into one packy... could be tricky, would be nice tho if they would change that so they held 125 items instead of going by the stones!

I've heard of pack animals not transferring, my best guess is that they weren't told 'all follow me', but it's only a guess, I've never felt the need to go shard hopping.

I've done over 20 transfers in the last 2 months, all with packies. Never lost one or any items for that matter.

I would however, just to be sure, put all things valuable in your bank.

Also it would be best to actually own the pack horses, not just be friended to them. When you transfer you will see a list of all the items and all the pets you will be transferring. You do need to check everything properly, before you hit 'ok'.

One thing about Xfering.

When you arrive at your location, be careful about removing items from the crate to quickly (if you single click the bag the items are in in the crate it will give you an unpack option, which is 100% safe imho). If you do and get the "you must wait to preform another action message" the item hits the dirt.

Seen it lots of times.

Tbh, when you think about it, is there any real justification for this no transfer rule to siege? Skill gains? (but who is gonna burn 2 transfer tokens for that).

At this stage where some people are leaving UO, why not give them the opportunity to transfer a character to Siege instead of leaving completely?

Skill gain is 300% easier on siege once you hit RoT.

It's like GGS every 5-10-15 mins until you hit your daily skill gain cap.

IF you have a means of purchasing it, consider buying the 20% space upgrade.

It gives you another 20% in your house, yes - but it ALSO increases your bank box from 125 items to 150 (a 20% improvement).

I would recommend that you use commudity deeds for the resouces and reagents. This will lower the weight to 1 stone for each deed and might help with the pack animals.
