Much like the Jeffersons did in the 70's I want to move on up.

What I mean is I want to upgrade my house. I have a large tower right now but it has become boring and cramped. I really would like a castle but I realize that this is probably not going to happen so I'm looking for a spot for a keep.

Does anyone know a spot availible where I can place my brand spankin' new keep? I ran around for two hours tonight looking for spots and I think I found quite a few but frankly I suck at placing houses. I tried a bunch of spots over and over but couldnt seem to find a good spot.

Is there even keep spots available? It seems like there is alot of room for housing now.

A few things though. I'm a Trammy at heart and want to live in Trammel. I also want a keep or castle not an 18x18 so Malas and Tokuno are out. I know there are a few spots in the swamps that are availible but I really dont want to live in a swamp, who would? LOL.

If anyone knows a spot that fits all my rediculous requests that would be awsome and I would be forever in your debt.

Have a quick look in Rat Valley, I am sure one of the big spots was open recently.

It looked big enough but I do not know for sure. Look at the location on fel and or other shards to see if there's a keep there.

Ya it does look big enough. I've actually checked about 10 shards and I couldnt find one with a keep there. LOL. I created a bunch of chars tonight just to check that spot on like 10 shards.

I guess I should have taken that Keep that was offered to me a few weeks ago in Drach Tram. I have an excuse though, it was deep in the swamp and I didnt like all the spawn around all the time. I would even take that now that I've seen how tough spots are.

Even though I'm a Trammy, I have no fear of Fel. All my chars can fight a bit and some can fight alot. I just like to have vendors once in a while and there is no chance of drawing a crowd to a Fel vendor house.

Actually although I dont do it very often, vendors area about my favorite thing to do in game. Nobody shops in "murder land" though

I've been to shops in Felucca, but you're right, usually when a shoprune has (Felucca) on it, most will avoid it. Hard to tell if it's really a shop or just a way to gank people, although the latter isn't such a problem nowadays as it used to be.

Keeps aren't soooo hard to come by - usually you just have to be patient. For example, about a year or so ago I even gave away a keep in a very nice location, because only one person wanted it... best part: he did not want it because it was a keep, but because of the location (turned it into a 18x18 after receiving it). *chuckles*

So just be patient, ask around and let it be known that you want a keep, and you might get one soon. :) Especially with SA coming up, I think many will be moving if they manage to get a castle in the new lands (should that be possible, of course... haven't really read anything about that so far, just that there will be new housing areas).

in my honest opinion.. custom plots can make for much easier access and overview than classic homes, especially than ones like keep and castles, unless the vendor is standing so you can reach them from outside you need to open a door, which can be problematic for some.

but.. im not saying it is impossible to make a well functioning shop in a keep but, the door is an obstactle..

basicly:
Closed door signals "we dont let anyone enter" and
No door signals "come on in, we are open"

i went to business school i know these details.. its the same reason every shop have transparent or open doors real life, think about that ^^
