I never though about such a template but this are my first thoughts :
If you plan only on taming without hunting or training your pets, then no need of Vet.It's 120 skill points to use elsewhere and no need for bandages but less stable slots.
No regs and no LRC suit means no necro/magery/mysticism.
A tamer without magery is not easy to play. specially harder to tame aggressive pets if you can't invis. Even paralyze can be helpful sometimes. No gate to bring your freshly non mountable pets to the stables, no create food when a pet is going wild and you need to feed it quickly. No long range healing/cure if your pet is attacked before you had time to go to a safe place.
No bandages means you need a magical way to heal/cure yourself and your pet.As we eliminated some you're left with chiv and spellweaving.
Chiv has some good points, like sacred journey that you can use instead of recall. Remove curse is nice too.But the downside is that most spells are useless without Karma (close wounds heals less for instance) and if you plan only on taming you wont earn any.And none of this spells are helpful to fight if you're not using a weapon.
Spellweaving doesn't need FC/FRC, regs, any additional skill to boost it, has healing and damging spells. Etheral voyage that you can use instead of invis to lore pets before taming. But it's useless without a focus has cool-down time and no traveling spell (recall ...) and the healing/cure spell is not really the most easy to use or efficient. I would go with it anyway, but it's not as good as magery.
Anyway if you decide to go with any of these you'll need medit or focus as you wont have any mana regen on your suit either.
As you can't fight with this template, not even with your pet (not bonded and no regs/magery to heal), hiding/stalth would be a life saver, for you at least. A lot of skill points though in an already crowded template (120 taming/lore).
Another helpful combo is music/peace, that will keep you and your pet alive and help you taming most of the aggressive pets. I wouldn't do without. And an instrument GM made only costs 10 gp to insure.
With all that I would probably go for a template with
Taming
Lore
Music
Peace
Spellweaving
Focus/Med (depending if your armor is medable or not, but preferably med)
It would be much better adding hiding, but Without any item to add skill points I don't see how.
And still I see one problem left :
Non item based means no guarantee to have a full 70 resist suit.
As much as peace helps along, you'll be hit when trying to tame aggressive pets, specially if you can't invis after the taming attempt begins.
And if you don't fight with this char, no way to gain honor. No way either to weaken the pet before taming.
With all this I don't see how you'll be able to tame a GD on your own.
Whatever you decide to do, let us know how it went, Im' very curious...
And good luck to you !
