More than 255 Durability?

When did they start allowing more than 255 durability on items?
I have this crappy little lizardman slayer that I use when hunting
leathers and after I died the other day, I noticed that it had a
very high durability. I figured after I repaired it, it would go back
to normal, but it just repaired up to 371.

Very curious as to if this is just a glitch, or we can really insulate
our arms and armor.

Has to do with it being enhanced with dull copper. I have a warhammer I enhanced with dull copper (so it would be lighter to wield) and it now has over 500 durability. I haven't seen it happen with armor but I rarely enhance armor pieces with dull copper. Powder of fort still has its 255 limitation.

Thanks for the reply Laconis. I wouldn't us DC to enhance armor either, but it is good information to know.

Use powder fort on an item until 255 durability, enhance with a metal that adds durability such as DC and it will have more than 255. Hope that helps.
