Moonglow fell to the bane. I went there to see it.

Ah... a lantern... no bane... nada.

Ill save my excitement of a great story... and just ask...seriously...

What does a city become once it falls?

Im sure we got tired of killing things on atlantic and our boredom lead to a falling city. But it looks exactly the same.

Dang at least when I go to bank there, the Bane should be snagging some of my gold for the war.

Hitherto, when a city fell the normal town guards were replaced with Virtuebane guards.

If they aren't there now, maybe the entire invasion is called off temporarily? Whether it's for plot reasons (Virtuebane withdraws to prepare for the big, climactic push) or related to what appears to have been the shutoff of the Blackrock Golems for technical reasons (they were also spawning on New Haven island somehow, and perhaps the entire Virtuebane-related spawn was shut down), or both, I cannot reasonably guess.

Ah shutoff makes sense.
I thought it would be cool that my bane alliance characture could bank there but my other would be attacked.

But nada.

I say let the elementals wander and bring havoc. Oddly, I always say let randomness occur, they got it with the blackrocks... but turned it off.

I got bored and frustrated yesterday waiting for blackrock golems to spawn so I went to Moonglow and killed all the bane guards. Didn't respawn, at least not while I was there. Got a couple of the defilers, no focus gems though. It's actually easier to kill the guards now without all the other mobs around if anyone still wants a defiler

Indeed!

I saw at least one young character appear and be killed instantly.. Their corpse is visible in the red circle. :(

Well there you go. A group could form up to protect the innocent. Perfect example of a random encounter world.

Sweet! The DEVS are listening to me. Praise the Light.

I disagree completely, Defend any other city but to have them where new players first enter the world is entirely counter productive.

Why?
Counter to what? Someone is there to heal them. You got something to talk about. They can see the dangerous parts of the realm. Build a friendship.

Its not like the elemental killed them, looted them, stole their game code, and changed their password.

Yeah..if it was one golem maybe. But if you've fought the golems you'll know how time consuming they can be to take down, especially with only a small group of players. And when theres half a dozen running round the bank with countless more in the woods and in Old Haven then patience wears thin very quickly. Thats not fun, thats not rewarding, thats being ground down trying to protect new players for hours. I admit that having them invade any other city wouldn't give people as much incentive to defend, but turning people away from UO because they got oneshotted by a golem is insane.

Welp it was a random spawn for a few hours and it sucked. I went to stop the golems from wiping out new players and unbonded pets but they still did. Wasn't much fun and no reward apart from armour pieces that could be collected from Magincia spawn with less hassle. It didn't even happen in peak time, what about other shards with even less people playing offpeak? They let Haven be overrun by a random 'fun' spawn?
