I have returned after a 2 year break and like some of the changes but definitley not not others.

Bring back the 10k we used to get when we created a sim. Get rid of the atm, who needs to buy money if u bring back the good payouts on money objects and the lot bonus. You know how hard it is to make money or keep a house open with what u give us now. The atm is useless to ppl who want to earn what they have without having to "buy" money

Give us back what we had

Will not be a paying sim again as long as game stays the way it is

Not a problem here, sorry you don't like where the game is going. Since it isn't finished yet anything may happen so I'm just going to sit back and wait and see how the game turns out.

I like the ATM's and so far I'm not all that unhappy about what we have....or don't have but like we have been told it is a work in progress. It makes it great for you though as a non paying account can still play now as before they couldn't.

I agree they should've given us the 10K start up money back....that would've made the transition a little easier IMO. I don't like the ATM's either....Makes it too easy for me to run up my credit card buying fake money....I swore I wouldn't do it, but a sim's gotta live, you know?

I wouldn't mind seeing the start up money come back, but maybe it should be given after a sim is like a week old or something like that to ensure new users know what to do with it before they just throw it at anything. Maybe thats a dumb idea. XD Iono. I just think the newbs might have a more difficult time understanding the new economy at first. It takes a while to get used to the game and understand how much 10k will buy and what you want to put an amount like that into.

I think I'd really like to see the property bonus cmoe back more than anything else. It would help just to have a little bit for keeping guest fed. It was never much, but if free accounts didn't count toward it, it would be difficult to exploit. Anyone paying for like 5 accounts in rl so they can keep their hours up deserves the tiny amount of cash for putting that much real life dough into it XD But that could be easily avoided, too, by not allowing accounts held by the same user to count toward visitor bonuses. Of course, they could always just use a different credit card, but whose really going to go to all that trouble over 200 EMU a day?

You are confusing EALand with TSO. This isnt TSO, that game is dead, this is a new game with new rules.

The things you want back are the the things that killed the old game sadly

We had to give up the startup money for a new sim to have the ability to delete our sims without waiting 7 days between each one.

I have to disagree slightly with that. IN the event of Cash Out, 10k on a new sim is the equivalent of almost $10 real money. Do that every 7 days and EA will end up giving away $40 a month to every player.

So they had to bring the start up money down to zero, but took away the 7 day wait as compensation

If you took a break for 2 years, then the past gaming experience couldn't have been that great...
Out with the old in with the new, time to embrace the change. This is a new game. The old game is gone for many reasons. As time goes on new features will be added and will bring value to this game beyond skilling and making money. I look forward to it...

As a paying subscriber, with a weekly 500-Simoleon paycheck, we do get $10k... after ...20 weeks!? Ha. Maybe that's EA-Land's way of trusting us (as long as we continue paying them)!!!

I'm just being a smart alec.

Can you please show me the correct download site. I see the exact same game I left two years ago. Now there are so few players they combined them into one city and they allow players to upload pictures in various forms.

Still the same game.

OUCH!
Yeah, I agree...different name, same game no matter what anyone says. I still say we would've been better off if they had started over completely, but we won't go there again.

Are they all going to TC3? I seems that since the noobs have no restrictions there that would be the logical place to go. What was the point of having the merge be successful if there is no new blood in the game?

Yeah or it could have possibly been the 0 updates from 2003 and on hmm ??

I like this better actually.
The game is still evolving and this is not the finished product yet - it will get better and better.

But even now, I think it's nicer to have to work for your money.
It makes the game more challenging and interesting.

It sucked before. A guy I knew bought those little red star rugs and placed for sale for 10k on his store lot. Then he brought in trial account after trial account and landed there, bought the rug, logged off, and in with the next.
Myself I made my cash honestly (running stores, trading a few rares) and with all that cash it was really boring to even go out and make money. There was no need. If I did go out, someone forced me to count 1-2-3 for every jam I made and then payed me their dirty bot cash for it, often while being rude to me.

I could never buy anything for that cash, there was no point to anything really, except sandbox-building of houses and petpulling.
If I wanna build just for the pleasure of building, I can play offline Sims.

Now the game is challenging again

No its not the same game.
Altho there are many players who wish it was, even tho they stopped playing because the "old" game wasn't any good.

In the old game I could build, build, build, build, build, roof art, build, roof art some more, build.
In the new game there is an actual challenge.

You act like custom content is nothing:
I made a playground, and it helps my friends and I use our imagination, and its fun! Who ever thought sitting on chairs would be so entertaining? I didn't.
I have been able to make actual prizes for my carnival instead of cash prizes only, or fish bowls. I have a light sabor!
I get to personalize my house to fit my personality, instead of the same couches and chairs and pictures everyone has.

Other things I enjoy about the changes:
I get to see all my friends from all the cities in the same place!
Stores actually have different stuff, instead of the same.
Casinos no longer exist.
I get to go to work, and know I won’t be working all alone.
We don’t have money exploits all around us, running the game. Oh yea having so much money made things easy, but was it really that fun?

Just because you don’t like the changes or take advantage of them, doesn’t mean change hasn’t happened. I have had more fun since EAL came out than I did for many years in TSO.

This is just the beginning. Maybe patience is necessary. Or maybe dedication is necessary. I am completely happy with all the changes, and the direction of this game.

Changes will not and have not happened overnight. It has taken a lot of work to get where we are so far.

I’m sorry you are unhappy, maybe that’s why they made free accounts…

I really really wish I could say the same. I do agree with you that it's not the same game, in my opinion there is very little "game" left. Now it's just work. I'm glad some of you are enjoying the challenge needing to work provides you, but I for one am not, and from most I talk to in game, they feel as I do. I was excited at the prospects all the sims in one place brought and my bookmarks were lit up with old friends I'd not seen play in ages, but as time progresses I am noticing fewer logging in, it's probably just because it's spring, things to do I'm sure... couldn't have anything to do with how bored they found themselves within a very short amount of time.

I use to be one of those who could find fun in the game, it never took much to amuse me, but at this point I am more bored than I ever was in all the years I've played. So I will keep my sims tucked under the furniture so our stores don't fall off the stupid list and go do spring things myself. I am thankful I have other virtual worlds I can enjoy when this one does nothing but bum me out.

Sometimes it takes a little push.
I went through a phase for 2 weeks recently, which I am out of now.
What brought me out of it?
I opened a welcome property, which isn't usually my thing.
I met a portuguese speaking player, and we somehow communicated for an hour using online translator dictionary.
I enjoyed my time with her soo much and helping new (free and paid) players, that I now look forward to that as part of my game.
How can I make someones day better?

Not only that but everyday is something different.
One day I'll open my welcome property.
One day I'll bring a few newbs to my carnival for a private party.
One day I'll come up with cc ideas and work on it. (usually weekend day)
One day I'll talk to everyone so much in game and here that I don't get anything done.
One day I'll visit new properties or places that are lower on the lists.
One day I'll go shopping and look at the stuff ppl make, beg for a miss piggy to match the kermit I just bought.
One day I'll make a new friend.
One day I'll remodel slightly with the money I made lately or check out a new game feature, like skinning. I love it! lol.

Thats 8 days right there and I didn't repeat anything not to mention there is more I could add.

But you are right about one thing, nice weather always causes this game to slow down. Lets hope that is the reason...
Hang in there please!

This is how I play as well, I rotate my game play and while doing it try to meet new people and help out anyone who needs it, old as well as new. Warm fuzzys are fun, makes me feel good about me. lol
