mining saltpeter?

I have mined in caves, in trammel, in fel, in duns for the last 3 hours and I have yet to see any. I have 105 mining wearing my gloves and I tried setting my shovels to stone, or gems and mining sand and in Tur Mur. Has anyone mined any yet?

It pops up and looks like a rock on the ground (it looked to be light gold in color). You then need to mine the rock. Don't forget it's luck based so the higher your luck the better your chance. It is also somewhat rare and takes a looooonnnnng time to get a amount worth using. It's pretty much not worth the time (in my view) unless it stays at 100 GP plus on the alchemists.

Although I have replentished my ingot supply. I guess I can make all the cannon balls I want I just wont be able to afford the powder to shoot them. I am off to try again and see if I can find the elusive SALTPETER.

Why wouldnt you be able to afford saltpeter?

I only see one alchemist selling it and the price is almost 90 per now. It takes 6 saltpeter to make 1 black powder and 4 black powder per heavy powder charge. That would make every heavy cannon shot cost me over 2k. I HOPE the price resets everyday or only very rich players will able to afford to hunt pirates.

Are players doing as bad as our economy? I just bought 12k salt peter for 3mil from player vender. Before that I bought myself a total of 20 60k iron deeds for 350k each from 3 players. Sold it to 1 other player at 650k each for all.(Im sure he pobably sold it to another player for 800k and that player used it to help get pof or imbuing which he will sell for more.) Total made from profit 6mil - I spent on salt peter 3mil. So at the end of 15 minutes I have 12k saltpeter and made 3mil to top it of.
