In her continuing stand to keep the Free Cities of the East purged of oppressive regimes, Mia Khalifa makes her Second Pledge to Minoc:

If elected governor in the coming weeks, Mia pledges the support of both herself and her companion Calavera ON DEMAND to ANY CITIZEN of MINOC. Thus, if a citizen of Minoc needs assistance with completing a spawn or peerless encounter, taming the wild beasts of Britannia, fending off guardians of a treasure chest, or any other task requiring the aid of their DULY APPOINTED and FREELY SELECTED Governor, she and her staff will present themselves immediately*. Merely shout "KEEP MINOC FREE" in GC and a location to meet you, and she will comply.

Siege Perilous represents independence, creativity, and true grit. The free people of Siege do well without assistance, but sometimes a helping hand makes all the difference between a five-minute struggle or a thirty minute encounter. Mia Khalifa stands ready to assist her future citizens!

* Exceptions to request for aid: if Mia is finishing a keyed encounter/boss or already assisting a different Citizen of Minoc, she will present herself as soon as the current task is completed. Not to get too far away from my run for governor here, but I picked Mia because that whole situation tickled me to no end. The posting on Reddit where her husband found her doing the hot wife thing, then getting in to porn (enthusiastically, I might add) and her Lebanese family flipping out, and then falling off the face of the earth which led to a bunch of media accusations that it was all a pr stunt. Drama so thick you would think it came from Siege if you didn't know better......

Sorry, what I was getting at is I'd like to know your true intentions. Is your main reason and end result to oppose the monopolization and oppression of the evil GIL? (a good goal by the way). And when you acomplish this goal what will drive you?
Maybe you will have my vote. Maybe not.
Maybe I'd like to see a variety of candidates to choose from.

I am not new to UO, I have been living in the shadows for some time here. Unfortunately due to conflict of interest and the safety of others my identity remains confidential.

Ok, im running because Lyssa totally got the shaft and hasn't expressed interest in running herself. If she were to do that I would throw every effort I could into getting her elected. But the fact that she actively volunteered and jumped through hoops to fill an empty seat, was told it couldn't be done, and then a few weeks later a GIL player that many (if not most) of the active players in that area had never heard of was given the seat, well, that stinks. A lot.

So I realize that the number of votes GIL can muster between alts makes my chances of winning small, but I'm at least going to put up a fight. I've already stated some of the things I would do as governor, and I plan on stating more. I have waited to see if the current appointed governor is going to express their own platform.

So those are my intentions.

I want to keep Minoc free from an appointed unknown Governor when an established player tried and was denied the same spot, being way more public about her attempt.

I need not make any pledge. The soil of Minoc is as rich with the blood of me and the once-great Minocian Partisan Resistance as it is with iron. Minoc, and whomever its future governors shall be, will always have my support.

I have been on Siege since about 2000. Vixen, with a different name, was on Siege for years early on, and came back recently. I knew this person then, and I have been happy to see them back. I don't see that sending King Blackthorne a request to occupy a vacant governor position is in any way impolite. I have read this is how it is done with empty seats. It is an offer to serve the shard. I seriously doubt Vixen had any idea that someone else had applied and was denied--I've never heard of that story myself. I wish no one ill will. I just think that blaming Vixen or GIL for being given the empty seat is rather off the mark. I would be happy to serve as a Governor on Siege myself, but I cannot make the governor meetings as they are currently scheduled, as I have another commitment at that time.

I can only speak for myself and TDO. We do not blaiming Vixen or GIL for being given the empty seat, that's all ok
I believe this post was made in the spirit of RP to make the shard wake up and take part in the governor thing. I would like to see more guilds take part in the governor system. I can't afford the time to run for any of the towns and move my focus away from Safe Haven.

This post is not about removing Vixen from Barter Town/Minoc this month, it's about the next 6 months, I see nothing wrong in players trying to be the next Governor of the town.

GIL may have to much power on the shard and more or less set the rules for the shard, Siege was never meant to be a peaceful place, it may be about time to balance it a little. It's time for Vice to fight for some of the towns and for their right to be on the shard. Lets see more thieves, brigands, evil mages, orcs, etc. Time to take some of the power back, but lets do it in a RP way and with respect for the item problem we have on the shard.

What about putting more RP in VvV, the Sundays battles is good start. What about Vice choose some towns, they don't want to see GIL win at the Sundays and maybe week days too. Britain, Trinsic, New Mag(not VvV) seem very Virtue to me, Skara is GIL's hometown. Left are Minoc, Vesper (not VvV), Jhelom, Moonglow and Yew. Lets find a reason to fight over them.

To GIL, I know there are some drama on the shard and I do know, some feel GIL is a little to much sometimes but you also do a lot great stuff for the shard. We don't want less of you, we want more Vice players to stay.
Lets keep it RP and with respect for the player on the shard. Having something to fight for is not bad, it gives people a reason to play.

To the ones with who hate someone, stop it, hate is not needed here, we get longer with friendly fights, little looting and lots of RP. I believe that will draw more players to our shard, both Virtue and Vice.

Nonel as in the Nonel from Great Lakes faction days? If so that is a name I love to "hate". You got away with many a hard earned scroll sir!

For the record. Lyssa left citizenship of New Maginicia, thereby giving up her +5 SSI trade agreement which required the crafting of a different suit to accommodate the change, drug way too may boards form bank to drop off to become adored so she could become a citizen of Minoc, attended a meeting and was voted into office by those present, sat in as the acting governor, left the meeting assuming she would be installed sooner rather than later, waited .... and waited... and weeks (and I mean quite a few weeks later) the EM came in chat and by the jist of the conversation (my interpretation now) admitted to failing Lyssa but made no offer or effort to put her into the position. At that same time Vinny was on and inquired about being removed, Lyssa offered to give the position back to Vinny if he wanted as she had not yet been allowed to accomplish anything. At that point it was in the hands of the EM and no effort was made to contact Lyssa and place her in her rightfully elected position.

The problem I have is that the next candidate was put in power within hours and without the vote of the members present at a meeting. Lyssa has "red" tendencies and was not very pleased with the inconsistency of those actions (RP wise). Personally I feel it was poor thinking (or lack of thinking it through) on the part of the EM. Having a red Vice antagonist as a governor opens many doors for rivalry and confrontations (RP WISE!). Lyssa does love to smack that Morgan Ironfist guy over the head with her bow

The last clarification I wish to make is that Lyssa is a member of Vice. That (RP wise) puts her in the position of opposing anyone in Virtue (just like Factions or Order and Chaos). It has nothing to do with personal feelings toward or against anyone on this shard. Face it folks, a little controversy and a good rivalry/opposition adds flavor and excitement to the shard. Personally I like the members of GIL, I have yet to meet one that I do not like but Lyssa believes their characters thinking is flawed and will fight to remove them from the towns ... or change their allegiance to Vice. So if I vocally, loudly oppose any Virtue member, or hunt down their pixels and kill them, it is nothing personal, it is a game and my goal is to make your heart beat a little faster and when you step out your UO door, the movement in the corner of your eye makes you wonder "was that Lyssa?"
