This past week, we held two Meet and Greet sessions. One in Fel and one in Trammel. Thank you to everyone who came out and gave us their feedback. I have to say, we've never done a Meet and Greet in chat before but, on the whole, it worked out pretty well! *grins*
Since some things were talked about at one and not the other and, for those who missed both, we wanted to do a recap of what was discussed and some upcoming fun for the Origin Players.
Web Site Update - We have made a few changes to the Origin EM Website that we hope will help keep players more informed of EM happenings around the lands. One of the biggest changes is that we have installed the Google Translator option. In the top right hand corner of the website, you will see an option to translate the page. You can simply pick your language and the whole page will be translated into that language.
New Story Arc - We are planning to kick off our EM led story arc this week. Keep an eye out for information on meeting times and places. Part of this will be things you can do on your own as well as EM led adventures. We are going to try some new things this time around. Not every part of the arc will involve death robes although we promise, as always, to provide plenty of those as well.
PvP With the Stars - This will be a Fel based PvP Tournament that will pair up an experienced PvP'er with an inexperienced person. We have posted a page allowing you to give feedback and help with the design of this event so be sure to check it out. The goal is to run this sometime mid September provided we can get the details worked out. You can give us your feedback here.
Captain Bloodrum's Challenge - This event started out on the Chesapeake shard and is now starting up on Sonoma as well. We thought it would be fun to get Origin involved too. Teams of two to six players race to complete a series of treasure maps ranging from level one to six in the shortest amount of time. Maps are organized and given out by the EM's. Each team MUST have a GM Treasure Hunter. The first team to complete the whole series is declared the winner. Once we've run the rounds on Origin, we will then be eligible to challenge the other shards in a cross shard competition. More details and full rules will be provided once this is scheduled.
Captain Lucky's Missing Rum - This will be a Fel based event. For this event, there will be boats with timered items in the hold. Players will form teams with the goal of recovering the items and turning them into Captain Lucky before time runs out. Each team will start with a boat and one of the items. They will then attempt to safe guard their own item while trying to recover (or steal) other teams' items. This event will be held in an area that allows enough room to maneuver while not allowing sailing off into the midst of the ocean.
Battle Chicken Tournament - This will also be a Fel based event held at the EM PvP Arena. Since most of the actual PvP events we are planning will not allow the use of pets, this is a test for holding some separate pet based fights. In order to give everyone a chance to raise, bond and train a battle chicken for the tournament, we are tentatively planning to hold this the weekend of October 9th. Several players have offered to assist with obtaining and training battle chickens. More details and exact rules to follow as we get closer to the event. But start raising/training those Battle Chickens now! This will NOT be a PvP event. Anyone killing another player at this event will be disqualified and removed from the house.
Additional PvP Tournaments - In addition to the PvP with the Stars noted above, we are looking at running some 2v2 and Team based Tournaments. Some of these will be based out of the EM PvP Arena while others will be based of off set goals or completing a certain objective.
Other - In addition to the items listed above, and the EM Story Arc, as well as the continuing live event, look for some competition events like we've run in the past. We are still planning to hold fishing tournaments, archery tournaments, scavenger hunts and the like. Our goal is to mix things up a bit and hold events with fun for all templates and players.
