Mean Pets...Lets teach them to be nice.

We need a way to train the mean pets to be nice. There is a very cruel streak in the person that come up with mean rares and ultra rares pets.

With the prices of cages now and the fact that payouts are way too low, no one will be doing much pet pulling in the near future.

It would be nice to have a way to teach the pets to be nice.

A mean cat is really unplayable. They will just run away since there is no way to give them social. The cat or dog statue even thought the pets like these will not give the cats social.

It could be added on to the teach action we have now. Or maybe it could take three skills to teach a pet to be nice instead of two skills. Either way it would be very nice to be able to teach mean pets.

I know there are some that like mean pets, and more power to them, they can have them, but for others that would like nice pets that we can play with, could we please get a way to make them nice?

If you praise a mean dog till u get wrestle you can wrestle with them and get social just don't pet them.

Yes I have tamed quite a few that way, infact I never pet them. They will bite you if you do which gives both parties negative energy. Praising them will build up the good energy.

I think the OP knows that. Because they just sad the cats are useless.

I suggest keeping those pets on a residence lot. No greening is needed. You could file a bug report on the cats not being able to get social from being praised and they will run away no matter what. They should get social from it because they get the green arrow over their head but they do not. This could be a bug that has been overlooked for years.

I'd like the pet run away feature to be removed.

Well if we teach all the mean pets to be nice, who will we name "Mr. Snuggles" and have attack people? I mean, my attack dog would become useless then... lol

Just kidding. I think in this new game having a mean rare is pointless. You can't let him/her out because they will run away and there goes your rare. With people unable to do pet pulls for a very long time, people will hold onto their rares no matter what.

It would make sense that mean pets could be able to be trained to be nice. Think about how many animals in reality are adopted from shelters and have been beaten or abandoned. After awhile of love and care, they change. Why not the same for ingame?

Mean pets have their uses:
A mean dog will keep the newsgirl away.
A mean cat will keep the repairmen on their toes. It's a little known fact that a mean cheetah will keep a repairman hopping, thus charging you less in the long run.

...I... uh.... have a few mean cheetahs... for sale ...if anyone would like to.....

Not Emus. Those birds are evil to the core. Did you see what one did to that poor animal rescue guy????? [shudder].

He may never pitch softball again!

I had a mean tiger for a long time. It never ran away. And it would hiss at people that were making pizza.

I like mean cats.

you can't.
Forever mean.

If you like mean pets good, keep them mean.

The point is not everyone likes mean pets. Not everyone lives in a Res that has free green.

So it would be nice to be able to do some action that would make the pets nice.

I love your idea of having it be something that requires 3 skills, similiar to teaching (logic, mech and whatever skill you want to teach). This might actually be a good economy drain because those that don't mind skilling could charge for 'pet behaviorial management services' to all the sims that are too lazy or can't be bothered to skill. Or maybe EA could make some kind of licensing system, where players buy these licenses for say 2500-5000 e.m.u. but EA only sells 50-100 of them, that way it would actually be a marketable trade instead of it being like shaman where anybody that wants it can get it.

I duno, just brainstorming building on the original idea of it requiring certain skills to make a mean pet nice...

My mean pets don't run away.. Sam don't like to be patted on the head. I don't blame him ! haha

But that would be another good feature to add to the game.

Keep up the brain storming.

You cannot train a mean pet to be nice. I've tried many times...

I would like that too...an auto return to carrier. I hate worrying that I will lose connection, city crashing, etc. one night and won't be back up til the next day. By the time I get to log in then, it could be too late.

My aunt has an emu. It let me pet its neck. She also has about 20 monkeys (disgusting, wretched, filthy critters), a herd of horses, a flock of geese, a few hundred dogs (shes a breeder), a flock of pigeons and doves, around 10 llamas, 20 goats, a canadian lynx, and a bobcat. The fat monkey tried to strangle me, and they forgot to tell me the lynx wasn't a pet, just a rescue. I thought he was batting playfully at my hand but apparently he was attempting to rip off my arm XD
