Mass Thief Guild Naming Pt. 2

Before you Vote please notice this is for the GUILD NAME only... abbriviation will be decided later depending on it's availabilty on all shards...

Ok Shin and myself, along with a few of the other atlantic thieves got together and decided not to let the deciding factor on such a big subject be decided on just 6 votes... so we have come up with a few other suggestions along with the 2 previous popular ones... Please post any ideas... this name is gonna be worn by all members and all shards... don't take this lightly and choose just because it sounds "cool"... really read into the ideas and meanings displayed with these names and PLEASE give us feedback.. the more ideas the better we can get this...

I went with "The Black Market" based on the idea that if a thief is going to survive without being caught, it works on selling it's steals on the black market... a good thief does not brag to it's target that it stole something, it tries to stay anonymous and keeps working that way.

Indeed when shin and myself thought up that one we just figured it's all about an item's Re-Sale Value... You steal an Item with selling it back in mind. But I'm not positive this is the BEST name for what we are doing here... The only thing we threw around about this one and "The Collectors" that was nice was the "cover" of a vendor guild or a rares collector guild that would be convient for stealing... but it just depends on how we wanna approach this I'm sticking with my vote

Tetricyde had a good point about guild names having the word THE. He'll be able to explain better than me, but I dont like the word THE in guild names.

Thank you rob. But yea I've always, personally, frowned upon "the ____ guild" etc.... I always viewed it as a bit un-professional... but for this situation alone... I really feel it goes against what we are trying to accomplish... Yes we are thiefs from all different places coming together as one to from this multi-shard guild. But I don't see it as a single guild... we all basically work solo in our professions and rarely steal with a partner... I see the guild only serving initially as a mass resource of knowledge and I view the vent server as the medium for this knowledge.... sorry if I'm babbling this out but all in all... I see, in this instance, "the ____ guild" type of name meaning one whole guild... which is as far from the truth here as possible.... that's just my two cents.. if any wishes to interject please do...

PS Rob: if you don't like it, why did you vote for the black market lol....

In the way 'modern' society pretties up job titles - calling a cleaner a 'hygene operative'. How about 'Acquisition Technicians' Or maybe 'Hostile Acquisition Technicians' HAT?

lol, do you really think now is a good time to start re-re-revamping the 'multishard international barrier breaking' thief guild name? haha, it seems like this has been in the works for like a year at least. why dont yall just pick one and go with it. i cant speak for everyone else, but i know that i got tired of waiting for this all to finally happen a long time ago. just my 2 gp!

p.s. if any of yall are tired of insurance, THIEF of Siege still has open ranks. While it may not seem like it on first log in, there is still much loot to be had here on Siege. come get some lol.

I completely agree crux... When Shin and myself were discussing it we just wanted to make sure everyone had a part in choosing the name.... we could of just said this is it like it or not.... just trying to be user friendly... but as far as a time frame. I have already transfered to pacific to start that branch... and shin has been interviewing the older thiefs for positions to GM other shards as we speak... I will be re-opening the vent server with more user slots... and as soon as I get the free time I plan on begining construction on the official website... a lot of stuff is going on behind the scenes to get this going but we are very close... apart from me working on building the pacific branch guildhouse in a keep I just purchased... and I've also begun collecting "thief related rare items" for a Thieves' History Museum... any help with any of the. Above items let me or shin know lol

are you guys planning on a siege branch? i talked to someone a few months ago on siege who claimed that they were a scout for the big atl thief guild (poo? maybe, dont remember the name) and said that everyone was planning on comin to siege. any truth to this? could always use some more thieves, i get tired of sein people go about their day unmolested, but sadly, i can only steal from so many at once haha.

I am not aware of the scout or the entire guild coming to siege. BUT there is no reason if your volunteering to take head of the siege branch, by all means.... you just need to see what other thiefs would be interested in joining and we'll get all the info out ASaP... that's how you take initiative crux. I'm so proud lol

heh, no thanks on a siege branch for me. we are already running a thief guild here. THIEF [^_^] of Siege is still goin strong and recruiting, but i dont think we will be joining the new multishard guild. we are more than willing to be friendly with your siege branch, and will help new thieves get thier fingers sticky hehe. just PM me or come visit barter town if yall need anything on siege.also check out uothief.com

I saw that we had a new guild name, vent, website...but I haven't been on in over a month (I think sometime around thanksgiving is when I went mia) so I was wondering if there was anything else that I had missed

*UPDATE*

I have just finished building my new computer, cost me a little over 800 to build... But extremely nice none-the-less... Come Monday my ISP will be sending someone out to fix my internet and cable and then I'll just have to re-install and patch on new computer and then we'll get things rolling again....

I do not know where Shinobi has been... but as far as the pacific branch is concerned, I will be getting everything in order ASAP...
