mana and pets

I've recently began taming lower end pets with one control slot. I'm NOT going to say why.

I have a question that I have reached "the end of my rope" trying to figure out. There are times I tame a critter that has literally 1/1 mana. But, if I keep it until it bonds, and then it dies AFTER it has bonded, it looses the 1/1 mana. Is there a way... even if it takes really friggin' long time, to train up or increase that mana count?

Does anyone know?

I believe now don't quote me on this but fighting magic using monsters who drain your pets mana forcing it to use meditation even though it doesn't gain in it should raise it's intelligence. You could also try mana draining it your self.

Note that you wont see them gain in meditation but i believe they should have the skill even if it doesn't gain but just by using it they should technically gain intelligence.

Also i don't believe it will work on the spider with 0/0 mana because he has none to regenerate after you drain him, another catch would be that the spider has to have less then 125 intelligence or it wont gain mana, like health they share gains.

Hope you know what your getting into assuming this even works the amount of time it will take to train up there mana this way is borderline 120 taming difficulty.

Well, I spent nearly all of the day killing frost spiders to get really good ones to spawn for me to cherry pick.

To my delight, after a few hours one spawned with 4/4 mana. And 57 hit points. I about pooped my pants when I saw 4/4 mana. For a frost spider that seems to be darn good.

I might pull it out of the stables and take some screenshots of it's stats and resists so I can reference it. And maybe someone will be board enough to farm them and see if they can get better than 4/4 mana.

I think tamers are like a lot of RL hobbies. There is a never ending desire of what pet that a tamer is seeking. heh.
