Make beds useful

Give a bonus for logging in your bedroom!

When you log out within 1 tile of your bed give random buff for the first hour when you log back in.

Only happens once every 24 hours.

You wake up feeling refreshed and benefit from faster mana replenishment for an hour.
Or a higher chance to defend against arrows or mele attacks.
Or your spells have a greater strength as your more refreshed and focused.
etc.

Currently beds are just pointless deco, lets change that.

There was an old screenie in KR that showed someone on a bed before it was released, the team said they could make it happen and then later reneged saying they couldn't.

Found the image after a little googling, Would be nice to finally use beds, However I think most people would prefer they fix the bugs from SA first!

You can fake it with a creative use of teleporters to make it look as if you are in bed. However, I'd like to see our characters be able to lie down, etc.

I'd also like to see beds give a random buff after x amount of time logged out, available once per server day. Just minor ones with maybe a special/rare learning one that gave a chance to gain skills faster for x amount of time.

Make it such that when you use the bed with a partner (of either gender), you get a stamina regen penalty but a mana regen bonus of the same magnitude, for the next couple of hours. Interractial allowed.

Hmmm. I suppose this could start a whole new career skill.
A way to make some fast gold. :p
But mainly, a useful bed and bring back the 3D client dancing !!!!
And that cool faint (and slide across the ground fast) battle tactic.

I used to have a bed in my bedroom but now its filled with that dambed huge Imbuing forge. It wont fit anywhere else in my house!!! :(

I would agree, usefulness is a good thing, so is functionality. It's obvious that the original designer, when placing these things in the game, planned on returning to them, eventually, but probably did what they could for the time being. To me a bed you can't lay down on and go to sleep, in a design, is just unfinished.

It would be nice if you were required to log out in a bed because it would give inns and stables usefulness. Also, friending someone to your home would have more meaning if they were required a bed. Not to mention camping, which might require a member of your party to have this skill, so that others may log out, for example: in Doom dungeon.

The more players are required to do the better the game becomes because it adds challenge.

I think it would be neat if when a character logged in a bed you could actually see them sleeping but could not interact with them, so you would always see the last character who had logged in that bed.

Sleeping should be required, the most a person plays straight is around 17 hours before they need to rest in real life. So, requiring them to log or sleep in a bed would stop players from logging anywhere they wanted to because after 20 hours their character could receive a type of penalty. It's just common sense to me that any character that has been playing for more than 17 hours straight is probably not being played at all, but some type of macro.

So, beds are probably important for many reasons but most of all, just being able to lay down in a bed would be a great improvement.

would be kinda sweet if you could actualy lie down in your bed , instead of standing next to it...

I know back in the old days your char would get tired from running and then you had to walk for a while.

Resting in a bed in your house or inn should give some sort of buff (weither it's extra luck or mana regen)

(although resting in an inn would be kinda ackward..since you could wake up with a total stranger next to you)

getting random buffing while logging in is something i would be interested in....:thumbup: lol

If we get to lie on a bed, the devs must give us craftable mirrors for the ceiling over the bed!

All right .. sounds like another bard oriented event in the making!

Now if I could just figure out how to play more than one song on the damn instruments. hmmmm

I've long wanted it to work such that you could log out anywhere there was a bed. So all the unused guard towers scattered around the lands would have a purpose. And for roleplaying, soldiers could log out in barracks and town guardhouses; sick or injured people could log out at the healers; players could adopt houses inside towns and at least sleep in them even if they're not good for much else :)
