MAJOR PROBLEM WITH VENDOR PENALTIES

I just reorganized my vendors, and took some items off of them that have been on the vendors for at least 2 months, and every item I took off now has a vending penalty on it.

It was my understanding that the vending penalty was only issued when you take an item off the vendors and it hasn't been on there for at least 24 hours, and more than 30 minutes.

Please fix this, it is so stupid. Once again law abiding rule following citizens of Britainnia are being penalized for the cheaters, scammers and bad people who always abuse the system.

Thanks alot for screwing everybody again because of a few people who could just have been given warnings or banned or whatever.

Next we will all be banned because of 3 people doing something stupid.

I think vendors were just fine before penalties. But that's my opinion.

But in any case, I agree this should be fixed

It has probably something to do with items that were on the vendor before the patch was implemented. Is it happening on new items?

I use my vendor to peak into paragon chests. I place a the locked chest into the vendor and then open the chest to see what is there. I imediately pull the chest off of the vendor. I get a vendor penalty of 4gp per chest that I do this to. So it is doing this with new items.

I think they have an issue with this not working as described.

I place multiples of items on 7 different vendors every day, and have as yet to see a single one get a vendor penalty on it unless it's pulled AFTER the 30 minute timer.

2. With items that were put on and immediately taken off the vendors, under the 30 minute time (like 30 seconds)

3. With items that were placed on the vendors after the patch, have been on the vendors for over the 24 hour period and removed after 24 hours (or 2 days or 3 days or a week)

IT REALLY REALLY SUCKS because I usually pull something off of a vendor if it isn't selling to lower the price and immediately put it back on the vendor.

IF SOMEONE WANTED TO FIX THIS, why not give us an option, when an item is on the vendor already, a single click to bring up a menu that has a price change/description change on it.

I guess that would be too fair and easy.

I have had the vendor penalty with items less than 30 minutes on vendors that where placed before but not with vendors that were placed after the publish. I think.

My point was that with the very large numbers of items I deal with on a daily basis I would have come across this so called bug at least once if it's as common as the OP makes it out to be. The only instance of an item being charged the penalty incorrectly is with items that were placed on a vendor prior to the publish that introduced the vendor penalty, but that's something most of us already knew about. Nothing placed since that publish has incurred the penalty that I've seen.

I'd be more inclined to believe the OP is mistaking items that were placed prior to the publish and assuming it's a bug, mistaking a newly placed item with an old one. She's already admitted to having items on the vendor that were placed prior to the publish, so it's not that much of a leap in logic.

Ditto... It does happen... it has happen to me, others have indicated it has happened to them...end of controversy... another bug to be fixed... hopefully it will make the to-do list.. somewhere ahead of the swampie armor colorization scandal now hitting our airwaves.

I too have experienced the vendor bugs.

Before this latest publish, I had items on a vendor for 3 weeks - then decided to rearrange, and was charged a penalty on half of the items I moved to new vendors, but not the other half (some coming from the same vendor, going to the same vendor!)

After this latest publish, I had items that were on a vendor again for at least 3 weeks (put on before the publish, moved after the publish), and several got penalized.

After the publish, I had one item that I repriced within 10 minutes of placing it on the vendor, and it had a penalty.

I've just been accepting it as a buggy part of being a legit store owner in the modern days of cheaters That's not to say I wouldn't love to see it fixed. I understand the reasoning behind the penalty, and even agree that it is reasonable - but ** it doesn't work as intended. ** It is horribly and inconsistently broken.

No, it's just random. It's happened to me and several people I've spoken with across shards. This has been on items pre-pub and post-pub. It happens on items within the 30 minute time frame and days later. I have two houses with vendors. I am always adding and removing/pricing items. The penalty cost varies, also. I've been charged 7 gp for repricing a 150k piece of rubble and 200gp for repricing a 300gp cacti. Both items were lowered.

Consider yourself lucky this hasn't happened to you yet, Connor. Because it IS happening and to many people, all of whom don't post on Stratics.

It really sucks that people are selling at brit bank items with the penalties on them already. Makes the life of a merchant, that much harder.

Next time hit the Esc key when prompted for the price. That will make the item "Not for Sale" and you'll get no vendor penalty.
