magery spells proposed changes

Was wondering if they could remove 2 things with magery spells.

1st) if you spam magic arrow to fast only the first one does damage and the rest dont seem to damage or even interrupt other spells.

2nd) when you cast explode too fast back to back the second explode doesn't go off or at least do any damage.

considering how fast some of the new mystic spells cast that so damage, it only seems fair.

just a thought..... er make that hope.

All fire spells in magery are delayed damage.
Energy Spells are instant damage.
Harm is instant, Mindblast is delayed.

Mysticism spells do not have the same delays. This makes them impossible to chain/combine. Mages can use Explode or Mindblast as combo openers.

With poisoning mages can also restrict healing.

Mages have a debuff to each stat as well as a debuff to all stats AND resists.

There are 2 Mana Draining effects.

There are 3 effect dealing field spells, 2 wall spells, 6 summons, 2 heals, 2 cures.
3 AoE damaging spells
1 AoE Debuff
Multiple Buffs

Mysticism has
4 direct damaging spells.
2 AOE damaging spells
1 Debuff
1 Semi-Disable - 1 AoE disable

Magery spells need what changes?

Thanks for your reply, you bring up good points, but...

cant remember if its eagle strike or nether bolt but they cast as fast as weaken and do more damage than magic arrow.

Also just because the fire spells have a delay what difference does this make?

After all they still take a certain amount of time to cast. I just dont see the need for it the way it is.

every other casting skill can pretty much have at it as fast as they can cast. yet magery spells are hampered. seems wrong to me.

Or why even have a delay for those spells then, make them insta hit like all other spells.

Just thoughts.

Since you mentioned Magic arrow and Explosion I will hit u up with some facts from the mystics side.

1. Nether Bolt is basically a chaos damage version of magic arrow. If you cast nether bolt (spam it) only the 1st nether bolt would do damage. This works exactly like magic arrow.

2. If you bombard and spell trigger another bombard right after finishing casting the first one the 2nd bombard will not do damage. This in a way works the same as magic arrow and explosion spells "eating" each other when casting too fast.

Mysticism has virtually same "skill point" requirements as magery. Magery is to Eval, Mysticism is to Focus, but mysticism only has 1/4 of the spell selection and doesnt even come with utility spells like recall, gate and resurrection. Spells has same limitation as magery (see above) theres not much you should compare between magery and mysticism as magery will come out on top in almost every single aspect other than mysticism can deal chaos damage.

discrete macros please, accidentally double casting should allow the first one to cast.

I would swear that when im fighting people that are casting mystic spells they interrupt my weaken spell. Interesting, I guess the people I fight have perfect timing.

Also I thought imbuing was the Eval to Mysticism.

Good to know thanks.

I just wonder how it would affect things if the spells all did insta damage. I think it was like that in the old days if i recall correctly.

If I cast explode flamestrike on someone as it is today, what would be the difference if they both insta hit? Because after all you did get both spells off on the target, delayed or not.

Just a though.
