Magery gains..

Heya.

Sooo im trying to get my magery to 120, atm its at 109.3.
Im using a mage -29 wep flamestriking a spellbook.
No gains on 2hours, at all. Been mixing in some earthquakes to.
Got 209.3 skillpoints (magery n med).

Am i doing something wrong?

Change up your spells. I always gained more using different spells. Wouldn't hurt to hit something with the weapon either. Just make sure the weaponskill of your mage weapon is locked so you gain magery not that weapon skill.

When I hit a wall like you have I usually did something else and came back to working skills later.

take the book off and keep casting EQ... some skills get stuck at random numbers.... changing the spell does absolutely nothing. Once u get the .1 gain u can put the book back on and it should start gaining again be patient.

Your adjusted skill is 80.3 in that setup. I'd say that was a little low to be using Flamestrike to gain. Switch down to Energy Bolts until 90.0 adjusted, then try moving on to Flamestrike.

Can also get the Satyr to discord you, you will find one by the Cu spawns. When he discords you your drop is about 29 skill points which will drop you back into easy gain areas. Especially if you add in your -29 wand for another drop

What I would do is cast mindblast and then get invis ready, once mindblast hits stay ahead of him (usually best to lure to grassy area) and wait for the discord to get you then invis. Then he looses his agro and you just follow him around as long as you stay near him you stay discorded and try casting buff/debuff spells on yourself or attack spells on the nearby spawn crap (just not your satyr)
