Add Mage Armor deed for metal, scales dragon armor and artifacts no mage armor.
This is very easy to implement, would be a revolution to change the game play, crafting systems, and much more!
The deed could be taked like prize of larger bod for blacksmith or special quests.

Seems to me the deed is already available....BoD turnins for Runic Hammers. I know I have crafted Dragon Armor with Runic Hammers and got some nice stats......Although I dont remember getting a Mage Armor Mod.

This is a new idea, the deed mage armor would be an additional bonus.

The first thing we would see is Mage Armor Jackal's Collar :D

This can be also made a huge gold sink. For the price of 10+ million you get to choose to make one piece of armor that normally dont come with mage armor, mage armor.

Part of me realy likes this idea becouse as it stands now most of the player base will not use non medable armor and this would add use to it. But i cant quit put a finger on it but something tickles the back of my mind about what could be bad about this.

If it is implamented i think id look for the middle road of the two ideas 1 new reward for a bod then take that reward to a npc black smith and pay 1mil to add deed to any piece of armor.

still cant name it but something just gives me a bad vibe about the though

You Right!
Ring, Chain, Plate, Scales and Studded armors are not used for pvp or pvm, for me is a waste.

A good idea, except there really needs to be some items that cannot be turned into mage armor. Need to draw the line somewhere.

yes imbuing will allow you to add mage armor however, you still cant get past 5 mods counting mage armor. So you will still see very few non med pieces becouse all the crafted items will be leather or sami armor that can get the mage armor plus an adittional 5 mods.

Also imbuing wont solve the fact that most ppl wont wear the non medable arties

Mage armor needs to be removed from the game. Not only that, but armor needs to be rebalanced. Only leather should be medable, and things like plate armor need to be buffed since you cant med in it. There really needs to be more of a balance/tradeoff where this is concerned. Medable armor should be a bennifit of using weaker armor, just like better resists/mods should be a bennifit of using armor that is not medable.

Yes I agree. There should definitely be some "bennifit" to non-medable armors. But how? A damage mitigation? If it works in PvP it will make those nearly impossible to kill running happy dexers even more godly. If it works for PvM would it stack with swampy armor?

Old UO worked much easier and made way too much sense to bring them back. :sad4:

mage armor deed? really?

ugh.

[sarcasm]yeah. that's a great idea because all armor types have such an advantage over and are so much more useful than mage armor already.[/sarcasm]

I could see a mage armor deed as a smith BOD reward (say, replacing the +15 ASH or the 115 PS).

If done, it would only be used on armor that is craftable (no sticking it on Virtue suits or Doom Arties).

You could make it an even lower level reward (say, on the same level as POF, replacing half the chance for POF), if you removed Mage Armor from the list of craftable properties (would only occur on certain exceptional armors, and as a random property on loot)

That would make it more balanced, as an add-on.

Lastly, some of the Doom arties need looked at, anyhow, that should have Mage Armor, that don't. Perhaps, removing them from the rotation and turning them into craftable recipe items, that do have Mage Armor? Or having them as ingredients for a better version that would be mage armor (sort of an "enhancement via crafting", ala the process of making the bookshelves & hitching post).

Hell yeah, I would love a jackal's collar with mage armour.

But the ability of adding mage armour to arties easily may prove a bit unbalancing. At least imbuing still imposes the 5 properties limit.

I dunno, to balance it somewhat, maybe have it work like enhancing? Similar chances for enhancing, if you fail, you loose the item?

Of instead of a deed, add extra benefits to enhancing with metal ingots like what wood does(specifically frostwood in this case)?

Then again, it's pretty hard to balance in the case of arties. Some arties may come up a bit too powerful after enhancing, while others are honestly not very useful without enhancing.
