Made Me Laugh

So I'm out fishing this morning while I had my coffee..

I kinda got into a tv show and wasn't really watching the computer.. I'd just reach over and tap my fishing macro whenever I noticed the sound of the hook hitting the water had stopped.

As you all know if you hit just the right weight in your pack fish will drop to your feet.

The show ended and I leaned over to look at the computer screen...

I saw my poor hapless fisherman buried to his armpits in fish!

Got such a laugh imagining the fish flopping and smelling while seagulls started making swoop dives at poor Ezekial.

My friend just made it twice as funny by saying that he was probably yelling and waving his arms for thirty minutes like a Sim character hoping to get my attention!

this type of post might be better off in the Fishing Forum. UHall is generally used as a means to post issues and suggestions.

You probably weren't around when it was legal to macro and there was no limit to how many fish you could catch at a location. I had a small house on Ocello back then (which has since changed to New Haven). It was close enough to shore that you could fish through the window, keeping you safe from theft and other harassment. Anyhow the inside of the house would fill up with fish in no time.

UHall is General Discussion. Just stories about the game have been a time honored tradition for the at least 13 years I've been here.

What the hell. Ignore this post Ludes, and thanks for the laugh that's great. I myself have done the same thing. I wish the overflow would automatically drop into the hold.

You know Flutter I've tried and tried to find that sweet spot by standing on my hold.. just can't seem to get it.. Starting to think the devs stopped signed that trick.

Doubleplay.. did you know that Ocello used to be the home of the astronomers?

They studied the moons mostly, Trammel and Fellucca..
There was a time when you needed to know the phases of the two moons to use moongates.. Some phases would take you to strange places.. Some people will remember the Star Room.

There used to be a big telescope there there in Ocello... they moved it to Moonglow for a while..

Now it's at the demons house in the Hedgemaze.

I swear that there's some kind of user-watching camera when deep sea fishing because it ALWAYS seems to pick the time you turn your attention away be it another monitor, a TV, a book or whatever to decide to spawn a serpent.

Been that way for YEARS too... ever since they were added in anyway.

Star Room was just a great adventure, back when UO was Fun, now it's just a big no-recall zone. I'll have to go see the old scope, glad it wasn't just deleted.

haha, I had a strong mental image of your char waving about, stomping his feet and shouting "HELLO?" :D

I may be the odd duck here but I really miss the old moongate system. It was easier to suspend reality and get absorbed into the game world when I had to pay attention to the moons' cycles.

The current system is fast & easy & really, really convenient but it's so mechanical. It's like using an appliance.

I don't remember the telescope or astronomers at Ocello. I think, though that Ocello was the site of the first town invasion. Orcs, orc scouts, and orc bombers.... was a blast. We also gated dragons and such to the island to isolate them for group kills. Was also the site of the some of the first dragon taming on catskills. I believe the guy who tamed the first one was named Forrest. People were amazed to see the dragon walking through town behind him.
