Hi, was wondering if this stamina-drain effect is inherent in PvM for macing weapons...
Anyone with insights?

Yes.
Chrome and Gray have figured out how much Stamina is reduced by melee hits;
(1)Stamina Reduction=[(current amount of Stamina / current HP )* damage]-5
(fractions will be rounded up)
(2)The melee hits by Maces will additionally reduce Stamina as follows:
extra Stamina Reduction = (damage/5)* ( current amount of HP/100)
(*) This extra reduction will be capped at ( current amount of HP/100)*5(fractions will be dropped)
(Note 1): Minimum Limit of (1) + (2) = damage/5(fractions will be dropped)
(Note 2): Maximum Limit of (1) + (2) =(current amount of Stamina/current HP)*damage(fractions will be round up)
If the restrictions above have conflicts, Minimum Limit will be given priority.
To say it shortly:
If the opponent reserves much Stamina, melee hits by maces will reduce 1-5 much more Stamina than normal hits.
If the opponent reserves little Stamina, melee hits by maces will reduce (damage/5) much more Stamina than normal hits.
This is applied when the PCs hit PCs or NPCs. ( This is not applied when ore elementals hit. )
