Lumberjack in Ter Mur

After 4 consecutive hours of chopping trees on Saturday and 10minute shy of 6 consecutive hours chopping trees on Sunday, I've come to the conclusion that either the RNG REALLY hates me or that the drops SUCK in Ter Mur. 10 hours of chopping lumber and I only received 1 Crystal Shard and 2 Brilliant Ambers.
While out chopping trees I found many interesting things...
9 Frostwood Trees
7 Heartwood Trees
9 Bloodwood Trees
14 Yewwood Trees
5 different Lumberjacking Scriptors running rails where they dropped the Ash, Oak and Normal logs on the ground. One of them even walked to his/her front porch and deposited the logs in their mailbox and kept on going. It was pretty funny watching them on their "rail" because at one point, they would walk forward 2 spaces, turn around and take one step back in the EXACT same spot EVERY time. Looked like they had the hic-ups or something.
3 Mining Scriptors of which one was "de-railed" because he/she just stood there mining dropping all the ore on the ground around themselves for the 15minutes I was delivering scooped ore to my bank box. I picked up allot of agapite, gold, copper, etc. with only 12 bars worth of verite and no valorite.

Has anyone else found the Crystal Shard drop this atrocious in Ter Mur?

I'm thinking I'll going back to hunting and no more Lumberjacking for that particular resource.

As someone that mines and lumberjacks alot in Ter Mur,I get alot of the crystals,but the higher-end woods(frost,heartwood and bloodwood) are nowhere to be found in Ter Mur.

I would be more than happy to show you one of each of the trees I have marked...they do respawn those particular woods each and every time. I'm on Pac, give a shout and I'll show ya.

Hmm I wonder if the spawn sites would be the same in Catskills.

No, ore and wood are randomized. Every vein of ore and tree WILL change. They weren't even the same shard to shard before resources were randomized.

Sorry, but you are WRONG! Just went back last night and re-verified all my marked runes as the same type of wood at each. I think you should check other places in the game as well for "rare" wood. I know of MULTIPLE spots throughout Tram, Fel, Malas and Tokuno that allow the same "rare" type of wood to be harvested EVERY time.

I get the crystals fairly easy. Not so much on the woods - very rarely get frostwood. Get Yew, oak and ash easily. Occasionally get blood or heart.

I have found all the high end woods in Ter Mur within 5 screens of the moongate. They do however, change quite frequently.

On Catskills,I have the plot just east-southeast of the public gate. All of that area is in guard zone,though a few mongbats do stray into the area.

Based on my experience I would tend to agree with Big Z (Ezekiel Zane). He doesn't post unless he has done the research...generally speaking.

Just my observations on his track record.

It may be that you have found a glitch. Like the infinity tree that continued to give wood forever when I was using UO Assist, had my backpack full and a pile of logs at my feet. Got over 50K logs one time as I sat at my comp and drew while randomly watching my screen. This bug was fixed by the way and I did nothing exploitive. I was at my computer using lLast Item and Last Target macro with a change purse on the SPACE key. However, overall, all resource nodes now change based on frequency of access. Or so I have read.

I get about 2 crystals per hour in Ter Mur. I don't know if that's about right or not. Brilliant amber is something that I rarely get at all.

Sorry, Boss, but you are wrong. Ezekiel Zane is correct. I believe whole heartedly that your marked runes revealed no change after a day, but they will change. Now the question remains will it change after your last chop, in a day, in a week, in a month? But, nevertheless, it will change eventually.

I used to have a spot marked in Delucia that gave 1000s of logs. It eventually would dry up but respawned always with 1000s more. That spot no longer works and I've never found another one since.

I just logged for about an hour and got every type of wood and 1 crystal and one brilliant amber. My first crystal after 3 logging trips with none. I guess it is just the rng and next time I will get 3 crystals.

I put my lumberjack away for that reason. I never even saw a frostwood after changes. I used to enjoy taking my lumberjack out. One of the relaxing things I could do on UO. It just is not fun anymore.

I don't really care what the UO Herald post has to say. I remember that post when it came out and believed it to be gospel myself until last weekend when I found it to be false in Ter Mur. I know of many places to harvest the "rare" woods on the other facets for quite awhile now and they always spawn the same. IN GAME, my rune book doesn't lie. I get the "rare" types of wood when I recall to the rune marked for that wood. Believe it or not, it doesn't matter. I know that it happens because I see it appear in my pack when chopping the trees.

There is a trick to preserving the color of a resource, but it is not infallible, basically because you can't stop anyone else from using the same resource.

I have 2 18X18 in Ter Mur and I get all wood types around my homes

The problem is theirs 3 scriptors out side all day and nite

I don't for see this changing NAY TIME SOON either. So GL getting some rare woods until then (end)

If you're referring to the method of, not emptying, the resource completely? That doesn't actually work. I've tried it extensively. It will eventually change anyway. Still at work atm so I can't find the post. Basara could explain it better or find the info debunking that method. As a long time miner and lumberjack, I'm not aware of any other tricks to keep a resource from changing.
