I was handing him an item and he disappeared completely. I've paged a gm and am watching my fellow players cast Felucca gates where he was, so I thought I'd come here and share the misery 
Edited to add: Yup, the guy by the jewelers. Big crowd there though, it's kind of neat to see so many people come together, in a spirit of fellowship, to make jokes about an NPC's bathroom break lol
