As such you dont lower it.

The way the system is designed, you replace it with a lower mod.

All that means is you need to imbue the lower mod onto the item and it will replace the existing mod. Still obviously costing however many resources it costs.

ok i thought i found the answer .... but now i'm confused again.

so I shouldn't have lowered the mod?

and if that is the case how does the replacement occur?

Well basically i think i complicated the issue :)

What i meant was say you want to lower 40DI to 20DI

The game mechanics sees that as you adding 20DI as a property and replacing the 40DI.

Thats why it costs ingredients.

This will still lower the overall intensity of the item correct?

So... you could possibly "make room" for another mod?

Yes, dropping the value of any modification will drop the overall weight of an item, and is a potential way of making enhancing a little less risky. Kind of like adding an extra inch or 2 to a 6 inch fuse attached to a stick in TNT is a bit less risky :) Odds are, it's still gonna go boom in your hands :)
