Honestly, what you're looking for are 6 soulstones. With 6, you can store 2 skills and switch out 2 other skills back and forth every 24 hours.

Some people enjoy playing templates like this, with no soulstone uses. When I got bored and competition on Chessy became nonexistent I made a char with: Mace, tact, anat, heal, parry, arms lore, all GM with 120 tailor. I had a lot of fun with him. Didn't power game at ALL. Worked my skills from just doing random stuff and took me about 6 months to finish. Was a great refresher in realizing how fun UO can be when you don't treat it like a job.

Yep, gather soulstones. For gold, you can always go farm wool and turn it into cloth and sell the cloth for 350 gp/bolt. Leather farming is also a good way to go as there's plenty of people here who will buy.

If you want a macer, this is a good template:
Macing/Parry/Bush/Tactics/ 90 anatomy/ 90 heal/ 60 med.

Crafting can be quite profitable as well. If you have 120 tailoring/100 armslore, you can easily sell GM barbed leather armor. Just make friends with someone who has a moongate house and put up a vendor there.

Well if you're looking for ownage then go with some of the temp these guys have suggested to you. But if you're looking to be able to just hold your own and have TONS of fun, then try the temlate I had when I first came to siege 7 years ago.....

name was Tolliver Quick........ the name "Quick" came from me being able to steal your goods "quickly" :)

100 fencing
100 macing
100 tacs
100 anatomy
100 healing
100 snooping
100 stealing

Now I realize in this day and era having both macing and fencing makes no sense at all, but back then banging on people with the war hammer, then making the switch to the long spear to get those para blows in was pretty affective, and lots of fun. You see back then everyone carried gm weps, so you didnt have to have a godly weapon that was blessed.

Like i said, you won't be too competitive in today's era with that template, but it sure is a lot of fun. :)

its not the most effective but fighter crafter hybrids are possible...

this is my char currently:

120 smith
100 arms lore
100 mining
105 bushido (working)
75 chiv (locked)
90 tactics (locked)
92 fencing (working)

only thing is with chiv healing requires a lot of mr gear, and I have trouble against mages. but such is life, still fun :)

If you are Human, do the Spellweaving Quest, and get Natures Fury.
With Jack-of-all-trades, you have a 50/50 chance of casting NF, even if you
put absolutely no other skill points towards Spellweaving. And NF is a resource gatherer's dream.
They can take down every thing up to Lesser Hiryus for Normal Leather. Drop Lizardmen by the score for Spined. Drakes for Horned, and Nightmares for Barbed.
And this is not to mention the gold, and occasional useful item you'll be picking up.

NF is basically a flock of bees. A summons that lasts about 30 seconds, does poison damage, takes up 1 follower spot, and needs no regs. 2 or 3 will drop a Demon or Drake. I put 3 on a Lesser Hiryu, and replace as each dies, and the Hiryu drops by the time I put out the 6th or 7th.

The hardest part of the SW Quest is killing a few Exudous Minions and Overseers, but it's easy to get someone to help with that part.
