I heard awhile ago you could use UOKR to add space back into pets names.
So with a little messing around I figured it out. And decided to change my nightmare name back to A Nightmare. After changing it I was wondering how many spaces I could add in using UOKR. To my suprise I could make 6.
So with a little more playing around I came up with a kewl name for my really old mare. As it is about to turn 8yrs old.
I changed the name to An Elder Nightmare. So I am hanging around in luna moving a few things around. Dismount my mare. And of course people start asking about it. I tell them that you can rename a pet in UOKR an add spaces in the name.
Well go figure, someone calls a GM on me.
20min later woosh I am in jail.
GM and I have a chat, and after telling and showing the GM about UOKR and how it is done. The GM sends me back..
I wish people would read about things before assuming that people are hacking the uo client to do common things. That everyone can do..

i'm glad to hear the GM was understanding and let you back out of jail immediately - that's a very good thing! especially after hearing all the mumblings on the boards about GM's and how they don't understand the game. good to hear.

Uh... I think his story sort of proves the GM's don't understand the game, otherwise they would not have dragged him into jail in the first place.

If they knew the game they would have told the paging player to stop wasting their time and redirect them to a KR knowledge base. (If one even exists)

His story proves that the majority of (uhall)GM-bashers are wrong.

A) They got the page
B) They understood who and what was being said (as poorly/ignorantly it was phrased/based)
C) They "investigated" (cause it IS possible that a "new naming hack" had been seen)
D) They listened/watched as the "how to" was explained
E) As there is no "KR Only" naming conventions in (or needed) in the KB ... no fault was found.
(Whether the GM's have a "reporting database" for updating/clarifying the KB is still unknown ... but would be handy)
F) OP feels "superior" enough to slam the others for "false reporting" and/or "not believing him" ...*shrugs* nothing new there.
G) Unknown, (but likely) "Pager/s" feel OP paid-off / is GM-buddy ... IS a hacker cause they "think so" ...*shrugs* nothing new there.

so ... GMs exist, don't always/only canned response a page, understand that there ARE two clients, had no clear "see database (kb) for answer" and so ... went in person to verify ...

Whether or not they've (GMs) instituted a "ranking system" (suggested in the hall before) as how to veiw the "false reporters/pagers" ...
need the pager to come and say whether or not the GM gave a reply ...

I'm going to give a little more leeway for the time being. As much as I have used KR, I didn't know about adding spaces into animal names and probably a LOT more about the client.

KR is still new in terms of a client and useage and is still evolving. At least the GM talked with Kurgan about the issue instead of either brushing it off or banning him on the spot.

At the end of the name press space and add a letter.
Press enter to keep the name. Rinse and repeat for more spaces.
I noticed doing this that it adds spaces to the front of the name also.
I would go into UOKR and rename the pet. Once I had enough spaces. I would log into 2d and rename the pet.
As you see from the pic. If I rename the pet, and click at the end of the name. It will add a space between the letters.

Now my problem is I can't decide on a name.
I've got 2 candidates so far:
A Greater Dragon named "a Dragon Grater"
or "Great Dragon Balls of Fire"

Thanks for sharing -I love that I was able to fix my pets names! I just started playing again and couldn't figure out how to rename them at all in KR. THat can get very confusing when you're running around with pets named "a dragon" and "A Dread Warhorse". Cheers!

Since the only people who would be buying such a thing would be people who have a tamer character that could actually control it, if they didn't lore it to determine that there was nothing fancy about it, they deserve to lose 150m.

Sure this has probably been said elsewhere but...

Unlike the limit on number of accounts (or is it people?) in 2D, you can add as many co-owners and friends as you like in KR!

HOWEVER! It works by giving someone "Access" first, and you cannot give Access when your house is public, so you cannot currently add friends or co-owners to public houses! Doh. Especially annoying if you have vendors. Hehe.

um...perhaps that is your interpretation but my experience with GMs tells me otherwise. an investigation only occurs if the GM feels the paged person is breaking the rules. once they feel rules have been broken a person is jailed and punishment divvied if deemed necessary. heck, I dont even play KR and I knew about the name change KR bit. dont the GMs have an updated knowledge base of their own?
