Lost Sorcerer Suit.....

Last night I sold someone the few reward points he still needed to get the Sorcerer's suit. That was great, he got the suit and was happy.

A few hours later a message came over alliance chat "I lost my suit". Turns out that the guy hadn't insured the suit. Someone asked him to gate off a runebook, the gate led to Feluccia and there was a red waiting for him... end of suit!

So... insure your stuff and watch out opening gates to Feluccia!

Also watch out for a runebook glitche. They cast recall off the book on the ground to a different area, and instead of opening a gate to the trammel place, you will end up in fel.

Opening a gate to fel for someone didnt lose him the suit. He walked through it. I feel bad for the guy as he musta been new. But sheesh. Surely he knew what a red gate ment rather then a blue gate?

Just to clarify, This happened to me(shocking luck lately). My fault for the uninsured suit but anyway thats not the reason i'm posting. I was asked to help an apparent new player on oceania. I was asked to gate off a rune(blue in runebook). The other player then cast recall from the same book to a different location, obviously in fel. Somehow sending me to that location instead of opening a gate to the trammel rune. Upon entering the area, before i noticed(lagged up slighty) I was deadly poisoned and running from the attacking player.

This is no way a rant, just a caution to other players to watch out for this bug/exploit/glitch, whatever u want to call it.

OH DEAR - bad misstake and a costly one. I feel for your friend. If I can help just let me know in Allliance I will see what I can do to help or at least ease the pain.

Thanks Mordain for being so up front about what happened and giving us all a warning about something to watch out for!

The thing about this whole incident that really worries me is looting of your insured / blessed stuff!

No need to help, Im not gunna bother getting another, it took too much time and effort, i'll just stick with my normal LRC suit, though the suti did look kick ass on my tamer

I agree Mordain the suits are not worth the cost / effort at all. If you want a 100% LRC / 70's resist suit take a mil and just browse vendors around luna. Most likely you'll get a few extra mods, MR, +Int, etc.

I had cast gate from the recall rune in the book(not default) and was recalled into the location.

Yes, and to a different location. the rune name colour was the trammel blue, not grey(or whatever colour it is for fel).

Aye, I lost all my +Taming Jewels, +Magery Jewels, FC/FCR Jewels. About the only i thing i didnt lose was my pet balls and boomstick... This is the thing that has annoyed me, losing insured/blessed items. I am not annoyed at the loss of my sorc suit cause i know it wasnt insured, I cant remember insuring it so yea.

I also Double Checked my bank balance afterwards and to my suprise i still have like 1.5mil in the bank(not in checks)

Ya and doing what I do doesnt help either... I dont use others books unless I know them.
Getting new players becomes a challenge.. Luckily I have a great bunch of guild mates who take care of that stuff for me.

Trust is a wonderful thing till its broken.

If you need help getting any of your blessed and insured items replaced let me know I will see what I have stashed away. This really does suck and I would hate for it to happen to any one but especially an alliance or guild member.

There are a lot of bugs/exploits/scams to rip someone off in this game. Just gotta know what they are so you can avoid them, the runebook trick that you speak of is pretty easy. Not gonna go into specifics but takes like a minute to master.
