Lost My Dragon tonight... :(

So... my two year old 4.3 star GD that was fully trained disappeared. :/

I live in Japan so I usually play around Baja's server down time. I always take caution to stable my pets 5 mins before the server warnings start to go. Nothing was different last night. Stabled her, and waited the 15 or so mins in Luna for the server to go down.

I didn't log back on before going to bed. Got on today and tried summoning her with her ball and ... nothing.

Honestly, its the first time I have actually felt like canceling my account. Not because I am angry, although I am a bit but because losing a pet that I have spent the last 2 years with doing almost everything feels like half my character disappeared.

I have lost items/artifacts in the past, but neither compares to how I currently feel.

Really, just no motivation to be in game at all now. :sad3::sad4::sad2:

And its not so much that I don't have other pets... I have at least 5 other 4.2 star dragons... its just that she was MY dragon.

Just a warning if you're playing around server down, I wouldn't use pets within an hour of it. :/

they really need to fix this bug...

i released a greater in my house on the porch which i had no room for in the stable

it survived out on the porch for the better part of a week

it was a nice one too so a lot of tamers came by and wanted to tame it

how does a wild one in a house survive a week, and a tame one vanishes at a server down..

********. and, sorry for your loss. i would submit a bug report in-game, maybe they will fix this bug

I lost two really nice raptors when SA first came out as well, reported it and paged a GM but they said there was nothing they could do.

Wasn't to hurt about the raptors... but this dragon, which I have had for so long and done so many things with, is just... a big hit to my desire to play the game. I used her to kill Vanguards... and used her in during the moonglow shadow lord event...

Sorry for your loss, had the same thing happened to me before so I know how you feel.

Nowadays, I will always try to re-logon with another char to make sure my pet was autostabled. And if I play near server down, I will wait for the server to come back up so that I can logon and check.

i don't recommend paging a gm, they won't be able to do anything...

i recommend submitting a BUG REPORT, so that they will be made aware this is going on and hopefully code a solution for us..

check your control slots on the toon and see if you are 0/5 or 5/5

Don't give up on her yet. Go to where you were hunting before server down and work outwards till you meet an obstacle. Pets have been recovered this way, hours after the owner thought they had lost them forever.

Maroite,

That really stinks, and I can understand why you feel the way you do after losing your companion to a stupid bug. Sorry for your loss. I've only been in the taming world for about five months but already have grown attached to the pets I have.

For those veterans out there, have the developers ever addressed this bug in a FoF or something similar? If not, seems like we should try really hard to get Cal's attention regarding this issue.

I am sorry for your loss. I lost a White Wyrm about 7 years ago (thought I had stabled her, guess not) and I actually cried. She was the first WW I had ever tamed myself (tamed her about 9-10 years ago or so), she was trained and she was my baby.

Still remember you finding my draggy when it vanished Petra ;)

I'd go where you were before you stabled the dragon and search as Petra suggests.

Really hope you get your draggy back.

I tried Petras idea but to no avail. I stealthed all through the wield, flew all over the surrounding ilsh areas. Didn't check Luna, but I was 0/5 when I logged back on so I am thinking if she went wild in Luna, the guards probably whacked her.

Thanks for the suggestions though.

Having 0/5 control slots doesn't necessarily mean she is gone. I had it happen that I thought I had lost a pet of mine, and I had 0/5 slots showing, but when I looked around, I found him. He hadn't even gone wild. It was just some weird glitch. I can't remember the exact circumstances but I remember I thought I had lost him, but I took a look around where I had last seen him, and found him.

Having said that, I'm not trying to give you false hope. I'm sorry for your loss, and I can understand that horrible feeling.

if your able to tame any animal, you will know it is not a 0/5 not showing 5/5 issue.. or something glitchy like that. I would say shes sadly gone if your able to attempt taming creatures...
