I say that a lot too, when folks make fun of how many times my chrs. move around on Siege. To wit I say..."if ya build it they will come."

Probably the most remote location I ever had hosted my carpentry vendors was in Wintermoor, yet folks needing chests or bookshelves or some tables and chairs or whatevers still came even way out there. It was once a very busy shop in remote Wintermoor...so like I always like to say..."if ya build it, they will come."
I think originally way before my time a similar quote was spoken by Teddy Roosevelt ...the Panama Canal was built up.
Truth be told, though, [ if ya build something remotely worth a flip, anywhere, if it has some draw folks may want to see or go to or need, they will find a way to get there & GO there.]
We mostly quote or misquote that saying, [If you build it, 'he' will come] from the movie "Field of Dreams" a film in which, a guy [Kevin Costner] in nowhere Iowa, turns his corn field, into a baseball field, talkin to a group of old baseball players, that seemed that only he could see at first. *kinda ironic sort of fits Siege anyhow, we talkin to no one there that maybe only WE alone at first may see, cuz they're dead or stealthing.* lol

Siege Perilous, can be a *Field of Dreams* if enough folks committ in some way or another, each of us unique to, BUILD IT UP from broken down spirits in the middle of a cornfield, they will come. Hard part though, for us all here, is to encourage broken down spirits, to try or to keep trying, at all. I know I feel it, that discouragement to keep on tryin to keep on here. Or as another quote goes, anyone of us can be part of the solutions, or part of the problems.
Course for the many folks whom left to go to ATL or other shards, more than rather playing to stay here, all I gots to say is, *sings* ' you're goin' to Trammel' by Midas or whomever did that UO Parody song. Bleh !
Build it, maybe folks, will keep coming.
