greater dragons. They seem to stop gaining at 120.0 despite my attempts to train at Eodon Great Ape, EM events, and paragon balrons to name a few I've tried. Killing myself doens't help either. One has a cap of 122.6, and the other's limit shows 120.0/126.2. Is this a known bug, or is it owner operator error that needs a little help?

Have you tried to gather a bunch of critters, like bears, goats bulls, etc? And just letting them hit your greater dragons? Don’t let your pet kill them, just need to be quick with an “all follow me”. That is how I skilled up parry on my pets when they had resist spells already at cap.
Don’t forget to use your whispering when it’s available.

Thanks, Mordha. I'll give it a try tomorrow! I am usually too slow with all stop, all follow commands.

It does take some practice. And if I can do it, you probably can too. Just don’t give up hope if you don’t get it right away.
BTW, there are lots of critters you can use west of the Haven moongate.

Also you can "gather" all sorts of animals, not too close to the dragon, pretype "all stop" dont press enter yet,
then aggro dragon on each, then immediately press enter, and the animal will attack dragon alone, then repeat 5-8 times or more. With 5-10 goats, birds etc hitting the dragon he may gain. You can do same with spellbinders to build magic resist plus parry same time also..But you may have a point and skills may not rise above 120, but worth giving these a try.

Slugs near the entrance to the underworld will raise parry fast.

If you need magic resist and parry though, I recommend spellbinders in old haven.

99% sure that Greater Dragons are capped at 120 Parry. Prior to Pub 100 you weren't able to see skill caps of all the skills on the lore page -- they changed this in Pub 100 and added the display of caps for every skill. For some reason with Parry and Greater Dragons it shows that higher cap.

I don't use GD's often anymore, but I have never seen one with >120 parry post-tame.

I also have yet to see a greater dragon with a parry cap past 120.0 - my old ones are not among them unfortunately.

I often visit the mountain paths between Covetous levels two and three and collect eight skeletons with my pet parry trainee ...

I submitted a bug report yesterday. This morning, tried Gnoopey's modus operandi. Corralling 12 skeletons was a snap with no skeletal casualties. Just told pet to all stop, all follow, and then recalled to Covetous level 3 entrance. Invis self after landing and issue all stay command to my pet. Didn't need to aggro any skels, they self targeted my GD. Unfortunately parry still will not gain, so hoping this is a bug the dev team can fix and allow our legacy pets to gain beyond 120.

Yep. I use the first level of Wrong with the Lizardman for training Parry on tougher pets. They have high DEX and Wrest, so they trigger Parry a LOT. Get 8-9 Lizardmen Squatters on your pet, try to get a Lizardman Defender (Archer) on him as well (that way you can have more than 9 creatures attacking your pet at once), run Consume Damage or Empowerment on your pet, get Whispering running, and just sit there and watch the gains fly.
For weaker pets, i use Lizmen at the Tokuno Champ Spawn.

Have just "wasted" a full whispering cycle with my dragon turtle hatchling and a bunch of eight lizardmen. The turtle should cap out at 125.5 parry but got not a single gain past the 120.0 yet!

[EDIT]I also have an old, pre publish 97 greater dragon, which now shows a parry cap of 122.4. Will try that one asap.[/EDIT]
