According to the News section, our newest patch gives us ...

Warlock

"Demonic Tactics" now grants increased critical strike chance to you and your demon pet, instead of increased damage.

Why? What was wrong with increased damage? Do they take players feedback on these issues or what prompts these changes?

I like the change really.

I believe, I could be wrong, but the logic behind this is because the increased damage (at least for me) was pulling aggro off my voidwalker and onto me. You don't want to pull aggro off your pet. In fact that was the best advice my husband gave me when I was first working my lock. "Keep aggro on your pet"

I think most locks, especially new locks, forget that we are SLOW killers. Damage over Time, not instant death.

Criticals, to me, are nicer than damage over time and won't pull the mob onto me.

Actually... big crits will generate more threat than raw damage. Thats the nature of burst DPS. The more you crit against a critter, the better chance you have of pulling aggro.

The changes will have had a mixed effect on warlocks depending on what build they use. A demonolgy ruin build is going to love the change as they are all about big fat shadow bolts. That build revolves around criticals. Affliction 'locks will not like the change as much as DoT's don't crit.
