Lockpick Frustration on Siege

Hi,

Building a Thunter on Siege Perilous and I have run into a very frustrating issue. I got my skill from zero to 25.1 on Vesper bank boxes, but since then I cannot seem to go up at all. I went .2 points on random boxes but everything else I have tried NOTHING. I went so far as to do carp/tinkering myself. I got my tinkering to 30, locked it and made 30 boxes with keys. I then tried UOA macro on 10 boxes for HOURS, and not a single gain. I had also got tinkering to 50 locked it, and made 30 more boxes with keys. Not a single gain from hours of LPing those.

I am at a wall, and its getting very very annoying.

I think the 30 tinker boxes might be too high even for 25 skill.

Go find paragon greater mongbats in Ilshenar, kill them until you get a paragon chest, and train on it. It will be a level 1 T-map chest in terms of lock type, so you won't actually succeed in a check until the 30s, by which time one set of your boxes should work.

Well I don't know if this still holds true but I made a Seige character and learned lockpiccking well into the 60's just picking orc chest locks in Delucia. He was also a tinker to make the lock picks with. Orcs have 2 chest one is very easy and the other is more difficult early on you just pick the one but as your skill grows you pick the other. In delucia the orc chest spawn is frequent enough. I am guessing you could do this with NPC gypsy chests or the red npc chests too like on the south Trinsic Island.
My character was a tinker and a miner so I could make stuff for myself to learn trade skills. I used to play only when Pac was down however it's never down anymore when I am on I maxed out too many skills an stoned off the lockpicking

I seem to remember picking the little golden boxes in most shops for gains. Can't remember if it was at low skill or not.

Hi Zack,

Same thing happened to me, you need to go around to the town provisioner shops and lockpick on the chests, crates and barrels, this will get you over the hump.
