Seriously lets be honest here. Only reason the Pvpers that are cutting down Kelmo, and Seige is because they can't handle playing on Seige. First time they go to Seige get killed and lose all there armor they will all go running back to the prodo shards crying, and hugging their insured items.
If you really want more players in fel, the ones you need to listen to is the trammel players. They are the ones staying out of fel not the pvpers. thing you should be asking yourself being a rude person is that getting yourself anywhere. The pvpers ruined fel themselves trammel and the trammies didn't. Lets put the blame were it belongs.

It's not about Forcing people to go to fel, its about Giving people in fel something to do I say this not speaking for everyone, but to those who are "afraid" to go to fel... Buy it. you did it with powerscrolls didn't you?

I'd bet if something "new & useful" spawned only in fel and in some area where you couldn't recall or exit to tram Fast and Safely Atleast 80% of Stratics would rant endlessly about it untill it was "Handed" to them because they can't get it easily since "pvpers" wont let them... :sad2:

There are people out there that actually "try" to get things themselves you know.

Even if there was some kind of reward that ONLY WORKED in PvP (so people in tram don't give a $!@# about it), it would be great, theres nothing for "us" (pvpers) to fight for anymore.

LOLOLOLOL

No one is cutting down Kelmo, you cannot compare "Siege" to any production shards when it comes to changes like this (they don't have a problem with people "not" going to fel) it's an issue that just does not exist on that shard.

Siege only caters to those who have multiple accounts (1 character per account) I will tell you the community on Siege is pretty amazing (if it hasn't changed).

I have characters (6 chars) on siege, most of which are completely finished, and 120d out =/ (big surprise) I just have no desire to play siege because the population is nearly non-existant.

What did it for me? handing out blessed equipment (samy helms & ember legs), lame reason I know, and I'm aware that they are no longer blessed, problem is, It wasn't addressed fast enough, now its a little late. EDIT: I had these items too mind you, and also PBD on All 6 of my chars. (which only people playing During the release of AOS had)

Btw, Kelmo!, Princess Doom says : HI

(I'm friends with her & her two son's Irl, and I visit them atleast 2-3 times every month)

*sheads a tear* and I told myself I wouldn't cry.

accept that PvP is the end game. that's not a bad thing.
No, sorry. pvp is not the end game. UO is a sandbox, everybody has a different "endgame" based on their own interests. For some it could be winning the house deco contests every year, others are bored once they have completed the best suit of armor while others are continually collecting. It would be a bad thing for UO if there was only one possible "endgame".

Covenant, this is something I can begin to understand and agree with (at least some parts). Your other posts and most other people's posts sound to me like they are asking for exclusive stuff to be put into fel so that they can A) force people to come back to fel so they have people to kill or B) make millions selling items that most people on a shard are unable to get for themselves because of inability or lack of desire to PVP.

After all, there is nothing in tram to stop fellucans (unless you have only reds but that is the choice you make and an essential part of Ultima that the wicked are punished) from coming and getting all of those rewards and content that are considered tram only while the reverse is not true. So why should fel get special incentives when it does make it inaccessible to a large portion of the population especially to those who DO try to get things for themselves? Its not surprising that people already begrudge the incentives that fel already has and are less than sympathetic to calls for more such incentives to be added.

I happen to be one of those people who does actually "try" to get things myself. And there are still many items that are available in Tram that I don't have yet because they are not so easy as you claim and they are not just "handed" to us. As a player with very limited time it is extremely difficult for me to get things myself whether they are tram or fel content. No, I don't do peerless bosses with 5 or 6 other people, my husband and I duo LadyM and occasionally we find another person to join us and help it go faster, we have yet to get a single Crimson (we stopped playing before SA and only recently came back). We can't truly get involved in pvp because as you and others have pointed out, you need numbers and practice, both of which are pretty impossible for me to get with the limited and also quite variable times I have available to play.

However, if all you truly want is "something to do" in fel that can be a rally point for creating pvp then I am all for that. Make it something with rewards only useful in PVP as you mention and it would be perfect.

However, if this is truly how you and other fellucans feel than I wonder why fel isn't totally empty on every shard and you guys aren't all on siege with Kelmo?

:) - took me a while to write my reply. Part of that whole variable time thing (kid interruptions are a biggie).

I see you did play siege.

Maybe what we really need to be discussing here is why is siege so dead when it should be every pvpers dream come true if they all feel as you do? I realize siege is no classic shard but it often astounds me how many people pancake about tram and wanting classic shards and yet will not play siege which is as close as it gets and definitely does not have tram. It is this sort of behavior that leads most trammelites to believe that these pvpers are really just looking for sheep to slaughter like it was back in the good ole days when people truly didn't have a choice about PVP.

Reinvigorate siege instead of add more incentives to fel that the rest of us will not be able to get to unless we are willing to pony up the money. Make char transfers to siege be free? Allow 2 chars per account? Can have house on siege and on prodo shard? What do these pvpers need in order to go over there so they quit whining about nothing to do and no one to kill in fel? lol :)

Ever since the split with Fel and Tram there have been huge differences. For example: Trammel has flowers and leaves on the trees. Fel has blood and bones on the ground, no leaves and no flowers. This is an indication of something being dead. It also reflects something evil has killed it because of all of the bones it has left behind.

I would flood the whole place with Ballies, Evil Ancient Wyverns, Evil Mages, anything that's evil, I would get it walking around.

I would design the Champ Spawns to have a Good vs. Evil Theme in Fel, same thing with Bucs, where if you had really evil spawns, they would be willing to work with PKs and Thieves.

You could also have very powerful spawns that would attack Reds and Thieves to help promote balance and control, so the player could work with the spawn and use it as defense.

Like, in Bucs you would have alot of Red PKs and Thieves that would spawn but if a Red recalled in, the NPCs would treat them as friends.

Then you could do another town that was good and had spawns that would hate PKs and Thieves.

So, in that way Fel would be slightly balanced where you could find yourself a group of Wondering Paladins who would stop to slay a Bally and you could join these NPCs, who would also shelter you from PKs and Thieves.

Or you could get with some really Evil Mages and practice your PK skills.

But Fel should be Evil and it should have spawn that makes you wanna move out. Trammel is the place to have a home, Fel should be the place you die.

This is all I'm asking for...
To me (I cannot speak for everyone), It has nothing to do with getting non-pvpers to come to fel, I would prefer for someone experienced in pvp, or a group of people that could put up a good challenge.

Edit? I'm tired..

that said I believe there should be some things exclusive to tram, and some things exclusive to fel (premote trading/selling between different playstyles).
Powerscrolls did that... and well there's extremely low demand for them now (since pub16 8-10 years?) /cry

There are a number of reasons people don't play siege, this might need a poll btw..

But here are reasons I more likely will not play there anymore. (Not including the reason i quit in the first place)

1) "ROT" system : It takes weeks to complete a characters skills. even if you have the 120 scrolls already... and it goes for dropping/retraining skills as well (some of my characters would need "updated" as I quit before ML came out) I have no interest in spending weeks to build a new skill up past 70 with the "ROT" system.

2) One Character per account : This effects other people more so than myself. (people I currently play UO with) this also severely limits playstyle as everyone I play with doesn't really have a "favorite template"

3) Recalling/Sacred journey : I can't say I was ever a fan of not being able to recall on siege. but it does have some "good" points with it (exploration)

That's pretty much it, I wouldn't ask for things to be changed on siege, especially the one character per account. I'm sure that has something to do with why the community on siege seems more friendly than other shards. (Less/No D-bags).

I like how you think and have to agree with you on all your points. Fel is indeed a land of evil or at least was a land of evil. I'm not great on lore but I seem to recall that fel is ruled by minax and tram was the escape for the "good." Yet fel never seemed to truly reflect an evil land other than pks and thieves as controlled by players. It should reflect the reality of what fel really is not just a mirror of tram with different landscape graphics and pvp along with the different rules/champ spawns. The spawns on land should indeed reflect what fel really is.

I do believe tram and fel should be more different. No reason to have 2 Wrongs both exactly alike except perhaps for double resources. I don't really like the idea of spawn helping the pks though, especially not in a place like the champ spawn which is a resource only available there. But wandering overland groups of good and evil creatures might be kinda cool.

I also don't think that powerscrolls promoted trading/selling between different playstyles and I don't think a new thing needs to be added to fel to do this. The reason I believe that is as I stated above, a feluccan can choose to get tram content and goods with ease, nothing much really changes for them, there is nothing that makes it more of a challenge whereas a trammelite does not have easy access to fel content because of the added challenge of pvp (and some of us like myself will never be good at pvp). The feluccan will have to pvm to get tram content but they already have to pvm to get the fel content also so there really isn't a difference for them. And despite what the OP says, I highly doubt there are many who play the game and only pvp. Sure, you might prefer to do stuff in fel but it won't keep you out of tram for certain content. Therefore incentives and fel only items like powerscrolls do not promote trading between different playstyles but merely enrich player-killers (who are evil and ought to be punished in an Ultima world) at the expense of trammel residents who do not wish to engage in pvp but will have to farm gold to buy the exorbitantly priced feluccan goods.

There was ONE land. It had LEAVES on the trees.

It was beautiful. Yes we could be pkd there or pk someone there.
Yep we even had thieves there.

Toss in lure story lines whatevers, and a MIRROR was made.
That place was not the ORIGINAL LAND MASS, it was the mirror, the copy,
it was called TRAMMEL.

Now I am not sure what exactly Felucca needs. But I feel it does need something. Perhaps it needs some folks to care about it. I do not pvp anymore since the age of stuffs, be it on Chesapeake or Siege. I do play on both.

When the New Magincia came, I was VERY fortunate to actually get homes in plots N1, N2, N3 on Chesapeake. I set up a vendor with potions in case any factioners needed a GC GH whatever. I set up fish quest fishes vendor.
I figured SURELY, since they made New Magincia ALL GUARD ZONEY, in even felucca and yes on Siege too, folks would venture there, be they from trammel or felucca, surely folks would at least go to the felucca island city that is all brand spankin new and GO THERE shop there FISH there, set their ships asail from there.

In 6 and a half months of owning N1, N2, N3 a grand total of 17 visitors in the 3 homes combined. :( It was heartwrenching, it was lonesome. I personally could not even fathom it, why NO ONE came, not from trammel*ites* nor feluccans...no one but a few allies and friends and some Crimson Pirates and one day a few factioners were fighting each other in my lawn. 6.5 months, and I only had 17 visitors ! :(

Eventually I left my lovely 3 homes in a row lovely set up felucca Chesapeake, cuz rather than dying from pks I died instead from loneliness there.

It should not be that way. Fel needs some attention, fel needs some love, but that may best be awarded [by those whom PLAY felucca].

So..quit shopping ONLY in trammel on ye blues, quit sellin stuff ONLY in trammel on ye BLUES, quit spamming this or that for sale at the Luna banks on ye blues ... PUT IT ALL UP FOR SALE IN FELUCCA LIVE IN FELUCCA, give it your full attention, and the love and respect it deserves...if yall keep going to trammel TOO, ya kinda defeating the purpose of having a *different* world being ALIVE *or dead* if ya seldom do much there, excusively there, ye selves !

If someone sets up a shop or silly bbq resturant even or fish hut in FELUCCA SUPPORT IT, SUPPORT THEM, don't go selling & buying, your stuff or others stuffs, ONLY in TRAMMEL then.
And felucca will regain life and activity and breathe again.
*just my own opinion*
but since I do not pvp
my opinion probably accounts for nothing, but a hill o beans, in the eyes of fel. pvpers.
I was born in ONE LAND in UO back in 98, trammel was not even invented and that land was full of LIFE cuz folks supported it, had shops up and had no where else to go to buy and sell, like a trammel or a luna !

Slap up vendor homes in fel again, put LIFE back into it.
[Sell your power scrolls in felucca malls], sell your fancy whatevers weps and armors, rares, ONLY in felucca. If ya own tram. malls only, to sell it all, you are a TRAMMELITE then. :(
I know I sure tried and [even in all guardzoney New Magincia Fel] on Chesapeake...about no one came, no one uses the new vendor stalls, fel side either, no one set sail much from the shores, etc. etc. ! And New Mag is ALL a fricken GUARDZONE *for the timider* to use if they wanted or needed to.

:(

So I do not have any solutions for felucca cept that I do know feluccans need to breathe some life into it OURSELVES, too !

If we do not even support some tiny vendor shop there ourselves, well no one will bother, nor have any reason to stay there nor keep coming there. So yes I care bout felucca..wish more players DID care, but that is water under the bridge I guess ! :(

Unless it idoc'd there is a tiny lil house Moonglow Felucca on Chessie that reads: WE WERE BUSY ONCE ! :( If no one fel side even creates nor supports a fel side vendor houses, they all will read...we were busy, once ! :( Feluccans themselves need to, put their shops/malls etc. BACK into felucca, breathe life back into felucca again and....
GET OUT outta TRAMMEL, yourselves !

If you make a new dungeon to felucca with new artis to lure pvm player to felucca it wont work because pks will wait here. But ifyou make it so that tresurehunter get in felucca major arties pvm player can be lured there becasue the tresure locations are random and cant easily catched trough pks
and the trammies will be happy to have work in felucca..

I agree with this totally. You have to be the change you want to see and to a certain extent you can.
I have a small tavern in Fel on Drachenfels (Skara Brae) with a few vendors selling things at fair prices to try and attract visitors. Sometimes I'll go out and rune-drop the champ spawns, the star chamber and other weird fel places. Visitors to the tavern have been great, I've been taken on harrower hunts and shown around homes and met good folks from many diverse countries.
It would be nice to have something new to fight over though.

I believe the Devs will ultimately do what they think is best for the game
Because that's always worked in the past right? From the day I started playing UO up until now, the population has done nothing but decrease. Every single expansion only alienated the player base further. Nearly every "balance" change to PvP only made it worse. Imbuing destroyed the entire point of PvM (unless you're like Kelmo and still haven't figured out how to do it?). Give me a break, it is beyond clear the devs have NO idea what is best for the game. And the worst part about it is they don't even attempt to reach out to the player base for help.

Yeh it would be nice for folks to have something new to fight over too.

Six and half mos. and I didn't even get attacked/pkd not even once...soooooooo depressing. lol

I go back there every day, see more and more empty plots fel side and just kinda weep. One person alone can not FIX IT, everyone that cares should just go back there and OPEN it up make some vendor homes and breathe life into it all again !

Least you have some visitors in ye tavern.
17 folks only across my 3 homes in 6.5 mos. was heartwrenchin ! :(

And I still don't get it, even the feluccans don't seem to frequent/support felucca, sooo I hung it up, & sadly gave up.

When recently, I seen that e. zento house on Ches. go idoc [pic in me sig there the Ches. side], I took that spot...but my heart and chrs. keep going back, and I keep lookin in felucca, seeing if this or that new mall, something/anything with some life to it, got built, but all I see is even more empty plots
esp. New Magincia fel side and I find myself shouting,
does anyone care ?
is anyone even here, besides, me ?? :(

Once again give people a reason to fight, and I am not talking about shinney new crap.

Factions are broke and pointless. Fix factions and make the sigils worth guarding again.

Intice people who PvP with something more than "bragging rights".

Make it easier for people who have never PvPed before to learn. The areans were a step in the right direction, but the EM staff isn't using them to help players learn. The EM's hold a LOT of power in helping new people get involved in PvP, yet ALL of them are afraid to do anything. The last EM I know of that tried to hold a PvP event with a long story arch had a public lynching before he could even get the story off the ground. :dunce:

Oh quit pickin' on poor Kelmo.
I have yet to even get him to show up in some scary place called *prodo shard* Chesapeake, or gasp even get him to venture to ... a trammel.

He doth not fathom, that frightening place :eyes:, other shards have called, a trammel ! :)

*laughs* to this day, I am one, that is afraid to go to NEW HAVEN on Chessie, eww gimme Ocllo, any day. :) *shudder*
No one coddled us, when we were new, with no New Haven.
Noooooooooo many of us grew up in UO being MURDERED lol pre tram.
Loved it ! Basic training 101, UO, old school-style. :)

Course back in the day, pre math freakizoidy UO %%% ages of stuffs/items, all I needed was a gm halley to layeth the smacketh down on someone or have an old school TANK MAGE.

* I haven't pvp'd since, I hate doing math,
just to figure out what to equip or to smack someone.* lol
Let em kill me, I don't care,
I no longer care about dying in a game.
But if ever all we DO need, is a gm blacksmithed plain iron ingot halley or plain old bow nothing fancy %%% no mods just a bow like we used to use, to layeth the smacketh down again, onto someone, I will be SOOO back into pvpin ! lol

What? "...unless you're like Kelmo and still haven't figured out how to do it?" What is that supposed to mean? Did it ever occur to you, Hi my name is, that the simple fact that UO has reached its 15th year is a good indication that the Devs have done something right? Do you really expect a 15 year old game to have the large population it had when the game was new? And has the thought ever crossed your mind that people like you are part of the reason why population in Fel has done nothing but decrease? Just about every post you've made so far has included some kind of slam or put down designed to denigrate anyone who doesn't agree with your vision of what the UO world should be. The UO world has changed, and the majority of players chose Trammel to distance themselves from the bullies who once ruled this little world. They left Fel to get away away from people like you, and people like you are the reason why they don't come back. You can either change your attitude or live with it. I honestly don't care.

Yes you can compare Seige to the prodo Shards Seige is where the real pkers, and pvpers live cuz there is no trammel and you can lose your stuff. The prodo shards are were the wimpy pkers, and pvpers play so they dont lose their stuff cuz its insured, and blessed. They also need trammel, and trammie players cuz they can't cut it on a only fel shard like Seige. yup and now ya stay on the prodo shards were your stuff is insured, or blessed.

they do the following things and fel will be more lively, at least on the shards that can be more lively

1. make pvp a toggleable choice, say like joining factions.essentially getting rid of non concentual pvp except in certain arias say dungeons and champ spawns
2. get rid of the scortched earth look
3. change the fel dungeons to something completely different to the trammel ones
4. keep the double resources in fel but make the chances for the higher end ore/wood much greater but at a cost like ore elementals or wood elementals sometimes spawning when you gather the resources without using a pickaxe.. that way scripters wil find there chars dead more often

If there is so much need for pvp why arenas are absolutely empty? I take a wild guess: noone cares about pvp but the designers and maybe a handful of very vocal players.

Felucca must be helped with a merciful shot. Pull the plug and concentrate on trammel.

Totally agree. I don't care for PvPing in it in UO on production shards, because there is no risk. I've got chars on Siege, but I don't have enough active accounts to do everything I want to do there, and I'm not willing to spend the money on it. That makes me a bad UO player I suppose.

And I'm guilty of getting my PvP fix through EVE Online, where everybody can lose anything and everything. People behave differently when they are in a position that they can lose everything.

I actually kinda love these ideas. Might need to make changes to the towns as well. Though not too sure the elementals will help kill the scripters. I'm sure they can script something that sees the elemental spawns and immediately recalls away to a different spot and then doesn't use that spot again for some time. With protection on, shouldn't be too hard to recall away quickly enough.

Of course, none of this will really help until we start increasing the overall population of all shards. Its not just fel that is mostly empty, its just more empty than tram.

Perhaps if we still need "incentives" for pvp then the double resources will only be available if you have the pvp toggle on. Not sure if this is a good idea or not but in this way we could make it so that not even guard zones can save you from pvp. That might make scripting a bit harder.

Hehehe, The PvM on Siege, is harder than the PvP. unless of course Siege is still going through the phase of "Dismount-Tamers" = more pvm than pvp imo. That template is good for siege, I've always refused to play a tamer in pvp. but regardless my characters (pvp) are in factions on siege, so an hour of tamer's not being able to use pets on me.... well no challenge there. =/

Sadly people (and myself) don't want to spend that much time to build/change characters, to pvp on a shard where you have to choose 1 template and stick with it, (after about 3-4 weeks (because of "ROT) and if you want to change the char around skill wise your out for another 2 weeks)

I simply play too many templates in pvp, and I've no intention of subbing for 20 more accounts to have the same amount of characters on siege.

Siege is harder to get started (NPC prices are higher, 1 character/account, and because its an all fel-rule shard,) doesn't make it "Pvpers Dream". It also doesn't mean your a "pvper" because you play siege. as a matter of fact, When I played siege about 6 years ago there were about 20% of siege actually pvped, others just role-played in "IAN-Town?" (I think that's what it was called I'm not really into roleplaying so much) so I didn't really participate in such things.

No what's priceless are the accusations people make, when they are completely false, There's no "diss'in" Siege. unless you guys consider pure comparison "Diss'in...." I'm sorry...

If anyone can come up with a reason to pvp on siege, and not a prodo shard, go for it... Dexers only need a weapon. Mages only need regs 120 resist-skill (44 resists) fine

It's just not worth the time for some prodo pvpers to play there, in reason's I've posted above, Some people don't agree with it, but if they don't play siege, They have their own reasons. Who cares?...

If Siege is as big of a "Pvpers shard" as you claim, what would be the harm in adding new things to fel, You would think more players would be a good thing no?

Well this is the problem Fel/Tram both have the same rewards on EVERYTHING except champ-spawns. (powerscrolls)

Why would anyone go to Fel, when they can get what they want in Tram?

If you think about it, there are by far more things in tram (tram rule-set facets), than in fel (and omg so much more valuable too)

A different reward table for the same Peerless, Spawns, Dungeons w/e would be fine, but there has to be Reason to pick fel over Tram, and vise-versa in some situations. Where is the balance?

Maybe they should start making "good" Set bonus items, and have Half of the set spawn in Tram rule-set and the other half in Fel rule-set.

don't include "Trammel" facet, so "Siege" doesn't get "left out" .. . . .... ..

Add labels (Gladiator's Collar - Obtained in Fel/Tram) fel ones could be Pof-able but still capped at 150 durability.. w/e

Siege wouldn't really "benefit" from this, they wouldn't lose out of it either.... I'm sure items get looted from you before they break?...

The obligation to include "Siege/Mugen" into everything that has to do with "fel" is a little rough and annoying, but Obviously I'm dealing with it.

I'm Curious though, Did "Seige players" dislike the new dungeon revamps? mobs being more difficult probably plays a big role on you, I've not seen many/if any complaints about it though...

That won't necessarily bring more people to Fel though, it'll bring more people to vendors of people who play in Fel to buy that stuff.

I for one would be going to the trammelites vendors (for the tram pieces)... so unless your one of the "Soloists" that wants to do every single thing regardless of it being fel/tram whats the difference?

Sure I will agree with that if when the person is wearing them comes to Tram it falls in their pack and cannot be put on until they go back to Fel. Well sorta agree, not with the replicas because they are well replicas of special items.
