Library shelfs made with Rug Sections?

I saw this in this forum about a week ago and cannot for the life of me find that post and the pictures again so that I can see how it was done. I have literally looked for 2 days now...LOL

If someone could please point me in the direction of this post I would very much appreciate it.

Oops, I was gone this weekend. TY DevilsOwn. :)

Crystal, it's really easy to do, and great for lockdowns. I still need to expand my library, tho I did stick in some more furniture so it's not so barren up there. :)

Sarsmi...You are a genius! So far I have saved about 300 lockdowns taking out the boring old benches as shelves at the Library and on top of that...the rug pieces can be dyed pure black! With the great contrast this creates with the dark shelves and lighter colored books, you can really see the books so much better.

Ive always admired your decorating ideas. Thanks so much for another great way to save space.

Glad you found the tip useful! Another great way to save space is to give rares and valuables to me for safekeeping. Unfortunately it seems most people don't seem to want to take advantage of this generous offer of mine, but you could be the first! :D

ROFL...well for the great tip about the rugs I just might have to do that! I just cant believe that your so unselfish that you would even take rares and valuables off peoples hands just to save them some space!!!! WOW! :lol:

Ack! Im still in the process of playing around with the color and placement, but I will post this picture to show the great contrast you get. Also, the books seems to extend a bit more out of the shelves made with the rug sections, which makes them easier to access. They may even look better placed directly against a wall, but the unevenness at the east ends can be camoed by a tall plant.



I had taken the entire Library down and was remodeling it to somewhat match the new design of the vendorhouse itself. So many possibilities with the rugs and tons of color choices that you didnt have with the wooden benches. Its still quite a mess and a work in progress.

Yeah, the book colors really seem to *snap* against the black! Very nice. Thats a lot of vendors! Oh my...
