Thought we were going to do something about this...
I count 54 barbed kits on this vendor all stacked neatly.
Not to mention the pile of heartwood feltching kits.

There is at least 1.8 MILLION boards in those heartwood kits. Each bow quest takes 70 boards, that's nearly 26000 quests. Now THAT is devotion...

It just goes to show you how little these scripters fear the GMs and Dev team. These scripters are now just thumbing their noses at EA because they know nothing will be done about them, or if it is done they will be back in business in less than a week. Just makes me sick to my stomach seeing things like this.

I don't think they're making bows. Probably Crossbow Bolts. I was hearing a guy, hidden next to a trash barrel of course, on Baja going constantly. He must have been turning them in every 5 seconds or so for a craftsman satchel. All you'd need to do is fill up on crossbow bolts and you can have several hundred turnins without moving.

[/ QUOTE ]I tried the crossbow bolt thing manually. Sometimes, I'd get lucky, and the right quest would come up first time... Other times, I'd be rythmically tapping my "use object" UOA macro for probably well over a minute.
Suffice it to say, I got incredibly bored, about 2 minutes after my eyes glazed over (about 15 minutes after I started).
Then I just got sick of the blatant scripters, clearly running exactly the same script, and left heartwood far behind me

Aye, I won't go into heartwood anymore. It's just a scriptor's paradise.

That does look suspicious.

As a side note, I really would not have known what we were looking at if you hadn't explained. Before I read your post, I saw the items in the slots and thought it was a bunch of green dyed fruit bowls and some grass at first, and wondered if it was something new in the event. Turns out it is just KR item graphics.

Commas in numbers would be wonderful to have in the 2D client for sure, but while I might accidentally overpay or undercharge by a factor of 10 in 2D, at least I will be able to recognize what I am buying and selling.

There's an option in KR to use the Legacy item graphics as well, so you can get the best of both worlds... commas and the graphics your brain is accustomed to.

You can't continuously do bolts. There is a timer on the quest. They put it in at the same time they put a timer on the bottle quest.

To Skylark, I am sorry I should have switched to legacy view. Much of the time I just forget because I am so used to it.

Events are great.
My favorite event so far is the one with the scarecrow effigies &amp; fire<font color=red>...</font color=red>
Love hatin' those f'n g's.

I vote get the KR/SA story arc over with and live team focus on more burning and more effigies

Burn the spoilers of UO.
This is the event people have longed for long before we ever heard of Time Lords and such. This event has been needed for many more years than any good ol' fashioned monster bashin' events, in my humble opinion. I can only hope round one was just a small taste of the events we'll get to see in the upcoming short-term (Wilki I'm not forgettin' about the great trillions wipe either).

Since you love KR graphics so much, check this one out (the white square).

I don't think they are supporting KR anymore,

definitely not as far as new content is concerned.

Rather ominous, I'd say. All that money spent and they don't even design new content for it. It's optimized for 2D in this new millennium. HAHAHA! That sounds positive, doesn't it?

OP - Scripting stinks, please vote "Aye" for Public Execution

- GrimmOmen recently stated on Stratics that although they are finished with the KR art for now (boo!), there is still plenty of art/animations that needs to be patched. They can't add it all at once because it ticks off non broadbanders.

(Yeah I was ticked the event was optimized for the ancient as well. But I can't wait for the future events optimized for KR - oh the Hall will be ringing with hatred on those days.)
But enough about the client wars.

Down with the UO cheaters!

We were told the event wasn't optimized for KR ahead of time.
This isn't a KR vs 2D thread *pulls hair out* I don't care what client you use, it's irrelevant.

I could not use the 2D client to take the picture because it doesn't show all of the items since they are neatly stacked atop one another. Get over what client I used PLEASE.

Obviously snarking about the KR client is more important than snarking about exploiters.

And they wonder why subscriptions fall???? Why dont people play this game? Umm who wants to play against those who cheat and are allowed to get away with it? And a company who has no controll over ther own game? Who but a scriptor could have such numbers of items?

I could tell what they were just by glancing at the picture.

Some of the graphics are different, yes. That means your brain has to do a little bit of re-familiarizing itself to items it has seen a certain way for up to 10 years.

Give it a small amount of time and the items become as familiar as they are in 2d.

Even I used to complain about this with the weapon and armor item graphics, but after filling BODs for a bit, the representations now fit.

Again, there is also a "classic artwork" option in KR that changes item, building tiles, and plant graphics to the classic 2d versions within the KR client should people so choose.

alright, so here is my question: if a vendor has perfectly stacked runics in the same place (2d), is this always the work of a scripter? i hate supporting scripters, but then it's like buying crap from walmart; the stack guys on my shard sell for 500k less a barbed kit than the others. :/

It's easy to stack in 2D, so no?

If they want to address the scripting problem, they shouldn't be attacking the scripters, but why they are scripting. I don't personally script, but I'm glad there are those that do as far as resources go. As far as PvP goes, it would have been in a far worse state had there not been people scripting to get BRKs.

I agree the day ea makes their "version" of a 3D client the default client is the day uo dies. Those graphics are horrendous. Also the fact they stated that they are finished editing the art for the KR client(the way it is now LOL).This client will yet be ANOTHER lame failed attempt to create something that failed.

UO was meant to be a 2D game and they should quit messin around with these wannabe clients they "claim to be 3d".Everyone fell in love with the 2D client, they should leave the 3d stuff alone and focus on what they have goin for them which is the 2D client.

A new client would be fine, if it were competent.

I once had the opportunity to ask someone in a position of knowledge if the poor quality of KR was due to the dev team being rushed. The person literally laughed, then cited numerous delays. They had lots of time. They just weren't very good at it.

Scripters suck. But what sucks worse are reasons for scripting. Get rid of the reasons; Get rid of the scripters.

High end armor and weapons come from runics. Runics require BODS. BODS suck. Thus people script them.

Same for skills. Same for any clickfest stuff there is in UO.

I know some of you like doing bods. I for one would not care for a minute if they were taken out of the game forever. Just my 2.

They should have been loot. Or gotten some other way than click and hoard. Hoard and click.

If this is the same vendor I'm thinking of Flutter, they are on many shards too. Sad, because I refuse to do BODS. So yes, I end up buying from them cuz I wont become part of BOD madness.

If I see a vendor though who seems legit and is priceing their stuff competively, I'll buy from them instead. Hard to find.

Had a feeling this would turn into a witch hunt with anyone owning more than a player-determined (opinion) of "norm" being tattled on for having more than one "should." I know people who go around buying up the more desireable items to place on their own vendors - "merchants" and that's pretty much all they do.

I'm all for stopping the sellers who positively are cheating the system, but hope those who play this game as "merchants" don't get abused in the process.

This suck!

The sad thing is that they'll never do something because they'll lose
players and money...this is really really sad!

So now we have a free game for scripters, thats all!

And..."sure i'll adapt", i'm bored to work hard to get nice armor pieces
and high end items hunting for gold while scripters sitting and do nothing
to get them and laught at me, so "i'll adapt", thx EA!

I suggest to all of you to do the same!

It is possible that whoever runs that vendor just bought the kits at a much lower price on say, one of the Japanese shards.

Not saying they did. Just a possiblity. I don't even know if the kits go for more or less there.

G

Guest

Guest
I don't think so, people who do that can get that many kits in a matter of maybe a week or two or three scripting using that e a sy thing And yah I hate buying bods just like you guys and yah I think scripting kits and SELLING THEM should be banable for sure.
as far as the click horde click horde theory goes... Yah that sucks and all but just think if people didn't script for kits the price of armor would be INSANE and so would the prices of kits. I bet a gazillion gold on it. Without the scripters your 70's suit would cost more then 20 mil.

I think that says that maybe to stop the scripters maker it much much easier to get a kit this way people wont script the kits and the price of armor stays around the same. Uo economy is such a fragile thing :/

Ok you ban the scripters
They make new accounts and do it again lol
Prolly a little mad at Ea and just make the market even worst.

You can't just say it scripting

Just because someone has 20 transfer tokens, does that mean they use stolen credit cards?

Uo Can't get rid of scripting,
Unless they could find a way to rid of the program used to script.

Banning is pointless.......
Uo Needs to start with that certain program, then to banning.

Well I think if they are smart enough to script dupe cheat etc they prodb also have the accounts fixed as well to cost them nothing or not exsist

I'd then be thinking, if they got them cheap elsewhere, what are the chances that those cheap kits were scripted rather than obtained legally?

If you were a merchant, with any concern about your reputation (which most have), why trade in such dodgy quantities of an item that's known to be scripted? The more you sell at a time the worse it looks. These guys know this. Some took down dodgy vendors hastily after the house burnings, but where did their stock go to?

This makes me think well, these "x-shard traders" could pretend to be legit and have a more legal looking vendor setup, with other rewards and just a few different kits. Or they could be trying to shift bulk dodgy kits on a seperate account. In which case they'll stock a lot of 'cheap' kits at once hoping to sell quickly, so they can shift the gold and sell it for $. Thus making more money before they're caught.

As nobody had a house burnt on Europa and yet there were very clearly BOD scripts running in Luna, I'm betting there are still many BOD scripters out there. And who knows how many BRSKs are stashed in secures too.

But I know, these folks have their supporters and there is always a group who will claim 40 BRSKs are easy to get legally, in part because some folks are customers of these people. Of course they won't want the supply to dry up

EA does not have the resources to go after scripters or dupers. They barely have resources to come and feed us the "We will not tolerate cheaters and are working on getting rid of them. However, actions performed on accounts will not be shared" line. Worry not though, maybe this guy will get his house burnt when they decide to randomly target 1% of cheaters every six months.

I realized this a while ago.

"EA does not have the resources to go after scripters or dupers."

ROFLMFAO

I had to do that, especially considering we're talking about EA, a marketing giant that is so large that it exclusively bought the rights to develop and publish all NFL Games. We're talking about a company that's so filthy rich that it spent a ****LOAD of money just to put the NFL tag or "John Madden" on their sports games. Really, EA EASILY has the money/resources to go after Scripters/Dupers, but they're more content milking UO like a cash cow. They're the Slum Lord of Gaming Companies.

Which is why when i see anyone on the internet show interest in Warhammer Online, i tell them about EA, and give them a links to several threads on UO Stratics UHall like this which show the type of customer service EA gives (Or lack of) and the rampant cheating. Almost all people i show this to are immediately turned away from Warhammer Online.

Whoa, wait a minute.... are you saying that the timer between bods had zero impact on the ability to script a barbed kit since the time between bods is irrelevant to a script as long as the number one can turn in during one day is undiminished?

Cause I recall myself and several others demonstrating beyond refution that this was exactly what would happen once the foolishly conceived timer was implemented.
