I am not sure HOW they would achieve that since the way they built it rebuilt it that is, nearly every new home plot is IN TOWN.
It is that same way, felucca on Ches. too. So unless they redo every feluccan New Magincia, some how, it probably can't happen, even if they did try, cuz every home plot is *IN TOWN* with how they did it/recreated it.
Ya might inquire on the dev. forum to see IF there even is any possibility they may change it somewhat in the future for all the felucca New Magincia's ??? !!!
Otherwise, tis a weird lil hub of Guardzoned wonderment, unlike anywhere they ever put into the UO game world before. . with the exception of lil fussy elves that once did not permit REDS, into their lil Heartwood city in the sky !

I came here for the classic uo feel and guard zones were a part of that... we cant have town houses any where else and I'm perfectly happy with things the way they are how much does this really effect you? unless your the type that likes to kill people right after they buy stuff from you... If your just concerned about unfair advantage to vendor malls in New Mag then by all means ask and you shall receive vendors... I have plenty of spaces open at the Siege Community Mall... and really the guard zone doesn't prevent stealing it never has... Make a thief if your so upset by it... leave the poor devs alone...
Agreed, but houses in guard zones were not part of it. It is called Trammel.
I'm torn....on one hand, I hate the guard zone, I think it's stupid for houses to be IN a guard zone. On the other hand, it makes people lower their guard, since they think they're safe, I already have 2 kills from inside mag guard zone, I know winter has at least 1, and both Night and I have had decent steals from inside it.

I am so sick and tired of seeing people holding on to a dead past. Believe it or not there are several people on Siege currently in play, that enjoy the guard zone (YES, I know false sense of security). And since we get NO help from UO anyhow, do you really think they will give you the time of day for this issue? They are not going to do anything. Siege spirit is slowly dyeing, who wants to come to a shard stuck in time. Siege is (can be) a depressing shard, if you listen to to much talk of days of old. Lets put days of old in the past where it belongs and move on. Reds, thieves, and blues alike can roam anywhere. You can steal , kill and dry loot all you want. Big deal GZ is in New Mag. Just might bring in some new blood into Siege. Give it a go and see what happens. I know and totally expect someone to come up and insult me or this post for what I have said. I have been on this shard playing for 8 yrs, anti social (maybe), this gives me the right to say: A lil less talk and a lot more action, let's step up and move on.
I could care less if it is all GZ or not.
Personally I WANT a New Magincia plot SOMEWHERE where I do not have to pay millions to get a won plot. And wherever I happen to luck out to GET a New Magincia plot to build a home whenever someday, that is where my homes will be for my chrs. and where my chrs. will play...on any shard. Got inquiries even on Chesapeake, but they probably even higher priced there than here, even for felucca.
I just wanted to live on that island period. I didnt care if it had gz or not. I just wanted to live on that island, but didn't win any plots anywhere, on any shards. But SOMEDAY whenever I will get one or two of em, on some shard somewhere, and that is where I will play and stay, cuz I like that island period, with or without GZs.
My only concern regarding the factor that New Magincia is all guardzoney on ALL shards, even the felucca faceted ones, is, it may create a place where everyone opts to go vendor mall hopping and they will ignore vendors elsewhere on the shard whatever shard ... and then, folks out of GZ areas will hang it up and not vendor any longer.
Having vendors at someone else's home is ok esp. for free fees but, a lot of folks just like to run their own vendors out of their own homes too. NOT all of them are in GZ havens !
Hopefully players will not forget the rest of the folks whom, do not have vendor homes in New Magincia or...Luna's like has happened before, when 'habit shopping' makes folks just zero in on one area and one area only, and forget to even look at all the rest of the homes, having vendors, some times.

I agree with babydoll. lets quit asking for special help or changes from the dev team lets just play uo. seige is like any other shard minus the tram ruleset and minus the insurance thats all we need to make this the best shard available we dont need special attention we just need to get out and just play i think thats my new favorite line for seige players we dont need special attention we just need to get out and play

LOL See you just want to fight, you pick a typo and think you really nailed me. My vendors have been in GZ for years now and people bought from those vendors. Luna and Umbra vendors. As to the toughen up , hardly the same, I didn't come wimppering to the Siege boards about being killed. This issue is not about being tough. I am tough enough for Siege. This is about that fact that I will not bury my head in the sand and wait for some UO pixie to show up in my dreams and magically remove GZ so that I can log on in the morning and all is right with Siege. I am simply stateing lets give it a try. I like the New Mag. although my personal house in Malas. I choose to face reality and move on and will enjoy Siege as it is and not waste my time looking back. Now I know you are lookiing for typos, and trying to read something into this because you want to have the last word, well have at it. You are clearly a waste of my time , because you are narrow minded, I will not log on to this thread again. So slam me all you want, keep your lil war against GZ going, no one will hear you.
Kael!! hehe i have a vendor shop in said guard zone. Yes i know its sort of loosing the fel ruleset aspect but seriously I love siege too much and like it or not ive always wanted a house there that you could deco to a point where people can actualy walk into the house. Siege has always been set up where even the public vendor shops had to anti pvp them with double walls teles to get in and so forth. Theres nothing worse then having a vendor shop where you have to squeeze vendors into safe spots so you can keep from dieing while stocking your vendors. with the gz housing on mag i can finaly have a open shop with vendors anywhere in it and can stock from any spot in my house. Keep in mind thieves still have free rain and mag gives them a even better place to steal stuff. False sense of security people get from the gz? id say so. Now personaly i will not own a house on mag that isnt a vendor shop but im 100% for keeping the gz there and creating a awesome vendor shopping area. Theres also the roleplay aspect onces people start gardening there and able to make a nice little community.Jealous?? lol I didn't buy a ticket for the plot

rofl, I read up to this point before determining that you really don't have much of an argument and will only resort to name calling. 5 star fail. Sprago's little guild gets a couple house spots in a guardzone without a town and all of a sudden it should have the protection of gz. This probably wouldn't even have been debated against had sprago's guild not scored any housing spots. What a joke.

Guard zones are great for thieves!
Makes ppl feel safe and likely to congragate in a common area with items they feel are safe in their packs!

I find it funny, there have and are houses in guard zones elsewhere, look at tel mur. I believe there are 2 homes in the GZ SE of the gate. There is also a small one in east brit, and a few others though I cant recall exactly where they are. Just cause this is the new hotspot. I know my old Vesper keep had the NE corner in the GZ. If I walked down stairs it was GZ protected.
If I could have a home anywhere, id pick lvl4 covetus, where that event dragon still lurkes. Delete him, make the back corner dirt, and let me move in, id re-sub.
