This is not a debate on which one should be kept, it is intended to show off both clients in a similar task so people get a sample of what both look and possibly feel like.

I've taken to recording some of the activities I engage in while playing UO, and decided to go threw 2 Medusa Runs one in Legacy and one with the Enhanced Client so people would be able to compare the look of the two clients on an even playing field, in the same area preforming the same actions.

For those who would like to see them here they are I'll start with the Legacy Client.

and now for the Enhanced Client.

I may do a third in the future now that we can easily multi-client where I take a second account in on my other PC and record a fight from the same perspective in both clients.... that might be rather interesting..

Nice, still too bad chars look like crap in EC.

So what template did you use there? And why a Diamond Mace? Isn't an Ornate Axe better with better specials?

And its sad that one template (sampire) is so powerful it just out powers everything else.

I run a Sampire Macer

Bushido
Healing
Mace
Tactics
Anatomy
Necromancy

I use a Diamond Mace because I can imbue a weap with the mods I want and not need UBWS and honestly the Diamond Mace is probably the best 1 handed weapon for a Macer, it allows me to chug pots if needed. I also swapped Parry for Healing especially when fighting things that love lethal poison, since Vamp Form won't protect against it, and you can't use cure pots in Vamp Form.

Over all an Ornate is better, but like I said for me I prefer the Diamond Mace, I get the most bang for the buck so to speak for how I play my Sampire.

It's actually mostly just because the people who play the other templates tend to be a lot less creative.

And Fighters tend to be more open to sharing and comparing their templates, which results in a more refined template.

It's also much less reliable. Stamina loss has a large impact on swing speed.

Thank you for sharing your runs and the difference in both clients.

That said I prefer the old client now more then ever, It just showed me I was right to not take the EC client. I dislike it very much.
Call me a pureist but it seems too much like a WOW/EQ throw off and quite frankly I do play wow, I dont want UO to be like WOW/EQ.

If UO went to this format it would be the last straw. I would sell off all I own in game and close down my accounts(53) and I bet I wouldnt be alone in it ether.

I still prefer the Legacy client, it's what I've used almost exclusively for around 11 years, but to be fair I don't dislike the EC either. Once I get macro's set up the Enhanced Client actually is easier to use I set up far fewer actual "Hot Keys". I make quite a few macros but don't bind them to a key just toss them on the hotbar for things I don't do often, and for chugging pots, or going through runebooks the EC is much easier to work with. I wanted in those videos to let people see both clients doing basically the same thing, let them see the visual differences not in still screen shots but actual game play.

I did say thank you hun.

I know it's still early for me, I was rambling lost in the cob-webs of waking up. Sorry if it sounded like I was put off...

lol? No, Sampires just outpowers anything else. Try and do that trick there with a non-sampire warrior, a bard or a mage, you'll get your but kicked, no matter how creative you are.

Not all Sampires are created equal either, if I had Archery or took my Gargoyle Bladweaving Sampire I doubt I could pull it off that easy.

I think 65 Chiv I keep forgetting it I don't really need it down there since I hit the 300% DI cap without using it. I usually do but that's force of habit more than anything.
