What does the hit curse do on legacy of despair?

I assumed it would be the same as the spell however it doesn't reduce the targets resists nor stats, there's no debuff icon to tell the target what effect this has has either. Couldn't find anything on uoguide

Interesting how a lot of carebears on this forum will immediately criticise peoples ideas, but when it comes to someone asking for a simple fact about the actual game, no one will contribute.

You are right, it casts curse - the magery spell one.

I think it is a pvp meant effect 'cause curse in pvm is like throwing a glass of water in a lava pit: it lasts nothing and produces no noticeable effect (due to the more than legendary resisting spells most interesting mobs have).

Actually, Curse has one major use in PvM....

There are a number of things that GM to legendary bards cannot peace, disco or provo very well, unless you hit them with a curse first. This means either having a mage with eval cast the curse (if the Bard doesn't have eval to go with their magery - my tamer/bard can't fit it in his template), or having a warrior whack it with the legacy.

Even a short Curse is enough for 1-4 attempts at the barding skills, and believe me, those moments mean a lot in the long run.
