Left Alt

[Another Lamer]

Is anyone else having issues with Left Alt Macros as in they do not work???
Right Alt seems to work a treat, Left Alt works with old client but not new one??

Any ideas? (Standard Logitech Keyboard and running Vista)

seems the client distinguishes between left and right alt/ctr/shift keys.

you can actually bind something to left alt-key and a different something to right alt-key. So when you bind an alt-key, make sure you use the same alt-key you will actually use in game. I have all my bindings to left-alt and they work fine. Right-alt doesn't work as the key bindings are not defined.

Ive just been testing......my key binding is fine....Left Alt + Key

The problem appears to be in the priority of the keys....the natural way to use that combo is press alt then press the key.............this does not appear to work well unless you hold alt for around 1.5s.

The macro works if you press the key and then press alt..........its basically the wrong way around.

I don't have this issue in the old client so I can only assume that its some weird bug in the new one.

ok. I misunderstood that the left wasn't working at all and the right was ok. Actually I should have said my left alt key works, but only as well as it ever has which is not really "fine" but only ok. Keyboard and mouse actions have been poor compared to 2d or any other program I've used. This was/is a problem with KR as well. I don't have to wait 1.5 seconds, but it is definitely slower to use the alt/ctrl/shift hotkey combos in SA than in 2d.

In the thread below, Supreem is finally made aware of the problem with the ctrl key. Hopefully he can fix it for all the alt/ctrl/shift combos.
