I dunno so much about listening to former players. I mean after enough time EVERY MMO just turns into a bunch of people arguing over which expansion "killed" it. Even WoW has been that way for years.

Not only that, but I saw comments following interviews with current UO staff that said "omg, I used to love this game" / " I'm thinking of re-installing when I get home" / "so many good memories". It's like there's a world of players out there just waiting for the devs to take the right turn.
