Laptop bug rips us off yet again.. (TC3 only as far as I know)

(Before you reply to this post, yes I did report this bug.)

I'm sitting in my skill house, and next thing I know, this guy is saying I need to give him 1k if I want my laptops back. I look up, and they're gone. I figured he'd just hid them like most people do. I looked everywhere, they're -gone-. I asked around, and appearently this bug has been around forever! I reported this guy for using this to gain money, so hopefully he's put to justice for abusing it. People are horrible.

So just a fair warning, keep a close eye on your laptops!!

I don't know if there might be a bug, but realize there are many ways to hide a laptop where you can't see it. Also, if a person carrying it hides, it will disappear as well.

You are right to be suspicious of people trying to extort money from you. Close the lot and get rid of visitors and see if it doesn't turn up.

This bug came about early '03. Hopefully it's not hitting TC3 again. Crossing my fingers that that person was joking and you get them back!

Is this bug differant from the one that sticks to your hands?? I don't remember the 03 bug and I thought I knew all of the bugs!!

No the one you speak of was differant than the sticky fingers bug.

Back then when the sim would carry the laptop, they could literally leave the lot with the laptop and it would be theirs.

Like you I only remember the one that made us all look like cleptosims...teehee..sticky fingers.

This one stinks ( I'm not in TC3
) , but I have noticed that in EALand that it is easy to "hide" the laptops in places that are "hard to see"...

I have had this happen too, a sim picks up a laptop, leaves the premises and the laptops dissapear.

BUT, the next time i logged back into that property the laptops were in my inventory, so they didnt go very far.

I liked that bug..lol..we had fun with that one..honest fun though because it wasn't PERMANENTLY taken from them. I remember we would go to bed and get in the showers with them too.
