Be careful with any ladders you are newly placing! Apparently something has gone wrong with them and newly placed ones are grabbable by anyone! I currently have two of mine in my pack! This is related to them not working right, which I saw in a post earlier.

Hopefully this will be fixed fast!

The cause might be different (im not sure is what im sayin), but its still happening.

*edit*

It only seems to affect newly placed or replaced ladders, and ti doesn't always seem to happen... I wouldn't be posting this if it meant people would be getting longstanding ones stolen.

I can think of a few places in-game where a portable ladder would be handy.

Well bad for you then that it doesn't have the extra invisible step on top you'd need to actually get up on anywhere when its in movable form.

Well I wasn't considering running out and exploiting the bug.. just thinking they could be a handy item if they actually made them to work that way. They'd never do that, though, because making such an item would require extensive testing before it went to publish.

Confirmed, this is happening, to both normal and castle ladders. I have sent in a bug report so we will see what they say.

I can just see someone using a ladder to get over a hill and then having no way to get back over to the ladder and losing it, then having to help stuck but not being able to then page a GM and be like well...I was using this ladder and...I forgot I only had one...

Actually, it seems if you redeed the ladder, place a South or East facing ladder of either type and redeed that, it will fix the ladder for the next use (you can tell if the ladder is broken or not by whether the deed has a "Blessed" tag on it or not.. "Blessed" is what it should be and will make a working ladder). South and East facings seem to not be causing the problem, only north and west, and only after they've been placed and redeeded.

Well I'll be... Crysta, you inadvertantly solved the mystery of why I was falling through my second floor! The ladder wasn't working right :(

It still has "Blessed" when I redeed it, but I can't lock it down anymore

Oh, and my ladder was facing West at the time...

It's not a dig at QA, you understand. I'm sure they, along with the art department, are expected to work miracles and do it retroactively.
